Radiata Stories NA trailer...

I really like the eyes, and the hair, and the facial animation. It's all really nice, and clean looking.

The voice acting is alright. There are some portions that are rather weak but otherwise it's bearable. I suffered through Baten Kaitos' voice acting so I am sure I can take this. :lol

Otherwise, the game looks great. Can't wait until September to pick this up. Love the music as well.

They go a little overboard with the big anime eyes, IMO, but otherwise the game looks gorgeous. I don't mind the dub, but I always love the option to choose Japanese w/English subtitles.

Is there that option? I would like to listen to Jack "Naruto" (radiata protagonist).

Awesome game, this is going to be the year of Square-Enix in USA :lol

The English dub is OK? :lol

"FAAAAATTTTTHHHHHHHHHHERR!"

"JACK!"

"JACK!"

"JAAAAACK!"

"I HAVE TO GO............. TO THE END OF THE WORLD!"

horrible voice-acting, as expected from square-enix, but I'll check it out, there's always that chance that towards the end the voice-acting gets better, but it's always too late...

The VA certainly wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't anything that'd make me not want to play the game.

I'm curious though, this was about on par with most games i've played in terms of VA. I can't remember playing a single game that has been dubbed to english that i've ever thought "wow that's pretty good", are there any games out there that you guys actually think fits that category (i'm leaning more towards RPGs SRPGS but any games are fine).

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Tri-Ace used to be my favorite game company until SO3 disgraced them (IMO,) I hope this is better than that game.

Actually, Legendary Sword does not kick in until the 1:25 mark. Before that, they are using Iwadare's version of Mission to Deep Space. Sort of a tribute to Sakuraba, I'd say, as Mission to Deep Space is one of the songs that he always remixes on his game albums. Iwadare actually re-did several Sakuraba songs (Incarnation of the Devil and Highwind, I know for certain).

Legendary Sword is the song that plays during the intro.

You're absolutely correct. I just though that they remixed it but you can definitely hear Mission of Deep Space kick in at the beginning. I just noticed that.

The Legendary Sword that plays during the intro is the one from the Arrange Album and, AFAIK, they don't use that during the trailer, they use the original Legendary Sword.

Eh? The Legendary Sword used during the intro (when Jack's dad is fighting the hyrda) is the same Legendary Sword found on the original soundtrack...not the arrange album. The arrange tune is completely different sounding.

The soundtrack didn't do much for me on its own, but it DOES work pretty well in game. It's not Iwadare's strongest work, but it's not bad. I miss Sakuraba, as I always associate his awesome music with TriAce anyways.

I'm hoping that Grandia III's soundtrack ends up kicking ass, though. Only two more weeks till the game is released! I'd like to get the Grandia Sound Adventure Box along with it, but I really don't feel like spending all that... :\

Yeah, in that intro with the hyrda, they do use the Legendary Sword from the original soundtrack. Then when does the version from the Arrange Album come into play? I'm guessing it plays during the title screen or something similar.

Iwadare and Sakuraba both do brilliant work. Whether one likes or dislikes the music that they create, it works wonderfully in-game. I have high hopes for the Grandia III soundtrack as well. All we have to go off of is Iwadare's previous work on Grandia and the few samples that were released on the official website but that should be more than enough.

While I have not finished RS yet, I am closing in on the end. As far as I know, the Arrange version shows up nowhere in the game. That would be par for the course, though, as it is an arrange album and those versions never show up in game.

The title screen music is actually the first track on the original soundtrack album.

I agree, though, they both do amazing work.

Unrelated, but right now, I'm really chomping at the bit for the Oz original soundtrack (just released). It's a work done by Michiru Yamane and it sounds incredible. I actually ordered the game today as well (been meaning to play it). :P

Alright, I thought as much. Yeah, arrange albums don't show up in the games but I thought this may have been different because the name of the track was "Introduction~Legendary Sword~" Odd choice for a title. Oh well.

I may end up importing Oz as well. Especially if Sony continues to stonewall its progress to NA. I'm very excited to listen to the soundtrack to this as well, mainly because it's done by the Castlevania composer.

I was excited about the sound box, but it only contains 3 songs from each game so I think I can hold off. The box does look nice though.

Yeah, I saw that too. It's a really nice looking package, but like I said, it's not worth the extra cash.

What's this? What's this? A cleansing, tasty mint of ARPG goodness to get the taste of SO3 out of my mouth, and from the same company? Dare I to dream? :D

Some of the dialogue is kinda stilted, though.

Tri-Ace seems to do better when they aren't doing Star Ocean titles, for some reason. Plus shitty dialogue seems to be a Tri-ace trademark (Tales Studio, too)

That was some awful, awful dialogue and a totally craptacular trailer. I was actually interested in picking up the title before watching it, but that was so laughingly bad that I don't think I will now :lol

SO2's dialogue...hoo, man...I actually don't feel the actors are really that much at fault considering what they had to shlog thru (all with some symblence to feeling). Rest of the game is 100% awesome, though.

Ehh... the battle system being called light is and overstatement. It's more so incredibly shallow D: But the real meat is the recruitment literally, reminds me of Shenmue in the long run with the day/night schedules.

It's a pity that with it being a Squenix game there likely won't be a Japanese voice option in the American version. Still, it looks interesting, and the English voices aren't massively dire...

Did we watch the same trailer?

Yeah, SO2 is proof that extremely literal translations from Japanese suck. But yeah the rest of the game is amazing, one of my favorite games ever :D

Wow. I watched the trailer without ever seeing any media on this game whatsoever. All I've ever had to go on was GAF hype. After watching the vid I have absolutely no interest in playing this game now. This looks exactly like so many other RPGs I've played this gen. No wonder the market is shrinking in Japan. They keep releasing what looks like the same old stuff over and over again. What is there to set this game apart? Please, someone tell me because I honestly would like to know.

Action oriented battle system, 175 characters, each with their own schedules (think Shenmue or Majora's Mask) to recruit, 2 different endings/quests, and lots of nonlinear elements. Based on what I've read, sounds like a cross between Suikoden and Star Ocean. Quirky RPGs like this are totall my thing, I'm just hoping I will have more fun and less frustration with it than SO3.

You comments moved me a little bit closer to the fence on this one. Thanks.
