Radio signals coming from Antarctica's ice

Interesting.

Scientists have discovered mysterious radio signals emerging from deep beneath Antarctica's ice.

The strange radio pulses were detected by the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA), an array of instruments designed to detect elusive particles called neutrinos.
Rather than detecting these cosmic particles, the researchers were baffled to find signals emerging from the ice at seemingly impossible angles.

Worryingly, they have no idea what could be causing them.

In a paper, published in Physical Review Letters, an international team of researchers explained that these findings cannot be explained by the current understanding of particle physics.

This might mean there are entirely new forms of particles and interactions at play or that these unusual signals are the product of mysterious dark matter.

Dr Stephanie Wissel, an astrophysicist from The Pennsylvania State University who worked on the ANITA team, says: 'The radio waves that we detected were at really steep angles, like 30 degrees below the surface of the ice.

'It's an interesting problem because we still don't actually have an explanation for what those anomalies are.'

It's finally happening.

Guys, please get your science news from some nerd on YouTube who focuses on that subject instead of these random news articles.

It's times like these I wish our former resident flat earther weren't banned so he could come in here and post some vague cryptic message insinuating he knows the real truthy truthiness. Sorry for being meta.
Back on topic this is interesting 🤔

In MSN news I read that SCIENCE has proof of Mars being red due to a nuclear war.

That's the level we are dealing with here.
No it was because it was a moon. Don't be a un litter rat.

I've always wondered why the world's superpowers, who are willing to fight wars and kill millions over tiny scraps of land, decided to leave Antarctica alone, and I've never really bought the "for science" or environmental excuses, because that's never seemed to matter elsewhere.

Until "recently" there was so much ice coverage that getting to the precious metals locked under the ice was largely a fools errand.

Now with "more pathways emerging over the continent" supply routes and travel passages are becoming more of a reality.

Which also means that North America is vulnerable in areas we were not before.

So now we are in a race to "get them lucky charms".

They should look for a tunnel and see if it leads to loads of Xenomorphs being hunted by Yautja.

Probably user error if it's not working as intended and getting impossible readings that should be absorbed by the ground they are coming up from.
