Nice.

Wasn't expecting this but a very welcome surprise.

And coming so soon, too.

I'm going to caution people on this one. Not a bad game (the aesthetics are top tier) but it wears its budget on its skin and the gameplay is not as refined as the other PS2 megaten games.

Awesome! Imo this is the kind of game that should get a remaster, because as much as I love SMT I could never get far on this one, the gameplay was just not fun at all to me.

Wonder what they'll remaster next. The DDS duology would be nice, but I'd rather take something like Devil Summoner or Soul Hackers but with press turn combat.

I played this for about 30 mins on PS2 and gave up on it - time to rebuy 15 years later to try again.

Played through both the PS2 Raidou games on my retro handheld a few years ago, enjoyed them both.

Getting this to retroactively pay them back for hours of fun.

Wonder if they'll keep this joke in:

Yeah I do hope they do improvement on that front, combat is not great.

Absolute jank yeah. Thanfully the trailer seems to show a much improved battle system.

SMT bros will be eating good with this one. Only thing I didn't like was the combat, everyhing else from setting to music, writting and atmosphere was pretty nice.

I already played the game when it was first released. There are enough games in my backlog I have no time to replay old games. Of course it's awesome that the release a remastered version for people, who want to play it.

More details and gameplay here:

Also, many Doimons will be in, including my wife Idun and my wife Artemis. Sadly some of them are DLC because of course a remaster of an Atlus game is going to have day 1 DLC up the ass.

SMTIV or Strange Journey

This was pleasant surprise and it also has new Doi designed demons from SMTV.
Truth.

This was the only reveal I cared about during the direct lol

I want that SMTIV remaster though, but this is also a great day 1.
Nice. Digital Devil Saga next please

Why both those games have not been remastered is beyond me. Was thinking about replaying them a few months ago, I have hte original PS2 versions as well as the PS3 version via PSN.

I wish they did the same thing for the second game, liked that one much more.

But yeah, SMT IV, Strange Journey, and SMT Devil Survivor would be even better to have on modern platforms.

Fuck yeah that would be awesome. Specially IV: it deserves better than being stuck on the 3DS, and they could take the chance to fix the horrible difficulty curve.

That's an impressive list of improvements. I'm a little surprised.

I enjoyed the original but didn't think it was spectacular. I'd be willing to give it another shot, though. It's only been uh.... 19 years.

Though frankly, I think they should've done DDS first.

About time this finally got announced after all the cock teasing from database mining. Day 1 for me. Atlus always gets my money.

"This 22-minute showcase details the game's setting, enhancements from the original version, as well as an interview with Director Kazuyuki Yamai. "

a game i'm actually psyched for? can it really be?...

still have both raidou games on my ps3 hard drive, but i'm still psyched anyway...

Any info about physical copy?

I never played the original, how is compared to old/new SMT games??

Also I can't see the pre order live on the UK Nintendo account, I saw already for Canada and USA.

Based on other recent releases I expect UK will be digital only for PS4, but we are likely to get a physical edition for PS5 and Switch.

I love that Atlus announce their games after they are near release.

I'm glad that it has higher budget than that half-assed Nocturne remaster. But I'm still sad it does not include the sequel (They want us to pay twice).

This was a huge announcement for me. This is my WW remake right here. Thank you Atlus! I remembered too much of SMT3 to replay but I have no memory of this one. Let's go!!!

So glad to see them rereleasing old games on this scale. JRPG fans are eating GOOD

Trails in the Sky
Proud Nordics
Xenoblade CX + Switch 2
Atlus doing all the things
Atelier Yumia
Tales of Graces F
Star Ocean Second Story R
Xpak for Chained Echos
FFIX remake
FF Tactics remake
Freaking Yakuza series

In the last few years we got so many classics, Triangle Strategy trying something very interesting with VR, and a movement of certain western games to relook at turn based. Awesome and loving remasters of some old and beloved series.

We eating good boys. Now we just need a full scale modern remake of Vagrant Story and we will have lived.

Really don't know anything about this but I liked the look of it and generally enjoy Atlus RPGs. Plus it's cheap-ish! Interested.
