Here’s how it works:
There are only 720 different combinations of the numbers 0 through 9 when you don’t allow 0 to come first (ie 001, 032, etc). You can do the math yourself or google it.
There are 3,141 counties in the US alone. Now consider that every county’s local government reports its number of new cases every day, and that there’s likely at least one local news organization that puts an article on its website announcing how many new cases there were in that county every day.
If we assume each county had its number of daily cases reported on a news site beginning March 31, that’s 84 days.
That’s 84 x 3,141 = 286,440 chances for each 3-digit combination of new cases daily cases to appear.
and that number only includes individual counties in the US, not any any other region or combination of regions that would also turn up when you do that search.
