Random PSP use questions

Is it okay to keep the UMDs in the PSP even when its not in use? Is it okay to play games on the PSP while it is charging? When should I charge the PSP, when it is totally out of battery life or anytime? How much energy does sleep mode use?

Sorry if these questions are stupid...I dont want anything happening to my PSP.

Thanks.

1.i kept RR in my psp for a few months. no issues.

2.yes, playing games while charging will do no damage.

3.i dont know if the psp battery is different, but it is recommended that you try not to let any lithium battery die completly to recharge, so going off that, um, yeah.

4.ive had a game on sleep for a few days, wakes up still with the 4 (?) bars of battery.

charge the battery when the battery diod starts blinking, otherwise it might surprise you and shut itself down when you dont expect it to do so.

Lithium batteries don't suffer from 'memory' effects like Nickle Cadmium or Nickle MetalHydride batteries.

In otherwords, plug it in when it's convinient.

The battery does have a lifespan tho... kinda like a half life.

It's even better, considering you have access to a 4th screen brigthness level that is not available unless you are charging the PSP.

I always thought that you were supposed to use lithium batteries till they're near dead. Hmm...

One of the specific benefits of lithium ion over the older nikel cadmium batteries is that you don't have to do that. Once in a while you should drain it mostly I guess, but you don't have to do that normally.
