Random questions for the day...answer 'em, add your own, etc.

1) What's the deal with the various flavors of "CSI" and the obsession with classic rock songs at the theme music? Does anyone have any insight into why the creator can't join the modern era?

2) Does anyone else think that "Lost" has the potential to go from promising to UTTERLY stupid, depending on what the mysterious-things-which-are-not-dinosaurs turn out to be?

3) When the hell is the new Way Out West album getting release domestically, dammit?

4) What is the better music download store right now -- iTunes Music Store, or Bleep?

5) Let's say you are dating a nice girl, like her a lot, pretty, smart, etc., but she can't STAND gaming. Then, one day out of the blue, you meet another nice girl, similar looks, who was TOTALLY into videogames and flirting up a storm. What would you do?

1) I think the deal with CSI: is that lots of 40-somethings watch, and that's the music of their era, or whatever. My parents can't get enough of that shit, I laugh at how ridiculous the show is.

4) I can't get into the whole music download store thing. It'd be bad if I did. I think a few of them sell Absolutely Kosher records, though, and that makes me a happy man.

5) That's tough, I guess. I couldn't just drop someone out of the blue like that. But then again, I probably couldn't be with someone who disapproved of my gaming (or music or any of my little obsessions) in the first place. I mean I guess that if the current girl is like completely disapproving and a real hardass about the gaming, off with her-- if she can't accept something small like that, she's not worth it. If she just doesn't like doing it, well, it's up to you how much gaming means to ya', I guess. I wish you luck, though. You're one of the good ones.

CSI sucks no matter if its classic to NY

The possibility is there, but I'm hoping it doesn't go that way, which I hear won't

???????????

Buying downloadable music online sucks

You have to make that choice, but you shouldn't be a dick just because your current girl doesn't like games..its only one thing, and from what I know of you, you aren't a massive gamer anyways right??

Can't stand gaming ...or doesn't want YOU to play as much? How long have you been dating?

Big difference.

Just remember if you are in a good relationship, stick with it. At least you know all their problems and can deal with them. New people come with their uhaul worth of baggage and it has the potential to crash into your u-haul of baggage. The best relationships are 2 people that can handle the other persons problems and it doesn't conflict with theirs.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
1) I've never watched CSI so I don't know what songs they use, but who says that modern songs are automatically more appropriate or just better? I've seen a lot of shows and films use a lot of modern crap just for the sake of soundtrack sales and a supposed "hip" vibe.

2) Sure, it could. Of course, what good show wouldn't take a turn for the worst if the writers suddenly made a major story element really stupid? I rather thought they played up the creature too much in the first episode, but I guess that's the hook. I hope it's not a constant force on the plot in future episodes, unless it turns out to be some really cool thing. I think it'll also be really tricky deciding when it's right to resolve the series and just end it. If it remains a hit, you'll have execs pushing to extend the story as long as possible, while creatively, that is likely not to be best, in which case the show would either jump the shark or become boring.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
About the games and the girls... A general rule of thumb that I and those close to me follow is:

Keep your 'worlds' seperate.

Stick w/ the one that hates videogames. She's more than likely the more productive of the two.

And you will never have to fight to play or fight over the consoles. And you will never suffer the fate of her kicking your ass in a game. :)

Every CSI theme song is a cropped Who song.

I have no problems with this.

I think you are presuming that the only alternative to classic rock crap is recent rock. They could and perhaps would have been better off getting a composer to write an original theme song...

1) Jerry Bruckheimer is an assclown who likes to bastardize things. Granted, he makes a lot more money then any of us, but I don't think I would take that money in exchange for destorying American cinema.

Wait, yes I would.

2. Well, if they go the Lord of the Flies route, where its acutally the people's minds that are creating the freaky scary things, I will call it a cop out and be disappointed in network tv...again.

1) CSI sucks., and I see what yout saying...WTF does Teenage Wasteland have to do with adult cops investigating crime scenes in NYC.

2) Haven't seen the lost yet, looked ok.

3)?!

4) BT or DC...yet DC turned to shit when it got really popular like hotline. People get really greedy.

5)Dump the bitch get the new girl...you obviously have more in common.

5) It would depend on what the current girl and I already had in common. And also, if her NOT STANDING video games meant she got pissed when I played them. If that was the case I probably wouldn't be dating her in the first place.

CSI is about collecting evidence and linking it to the suspects using DNA etc.

or "we have DNA....who's is it?" or they find dead people with no ID, and thru DNA figure out "Who are You?" CSIs theme song is The Who's "Who are you" Appropriate enought for ya? They seemed to think so anyway. Since it ended up working well with the target audience they stuck with the theme for the spin offs.

It is also the loudest main title theme being broadcast currently. If you can recive the 5.1 take caution, it is LOUD! Vegas is the loudest as Pete Townshend supervised the remixing of Who Are You? in 5.1. The others are not true 5.1. They are stero mixes being processed thru a "spatilizer" type thingie. Technical I know

about joining the modern era of music, you must miss all the club scenes where they play all kinds of dancy techno stuff. Miami especially

Why do store clerks always ask you "Can I help you?" right as soon you enter the door and then get mad when you asking a "stupid question"? Why can't they bug you after you have at least one minute to look around first?

Why do ads all have to be the "same"?
