RE4 Spanish Translation

This topic title made me think about something... what happens when the game is translated into spanish for the Spain/Mexican release? Will they change what the villages say into another language to ensure the experience is the same for everyone, or just leave it?

According to Oxford's Pocket Spanish Dictionary,

I'm from Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). When you enter the house at ther very beginning of the demo the villager inside says, as good as i can remember : "Que carajo estás haciendo tu aquí", that means "What the fuck are you doing here?".
It seems that the language spoken by that vilager is a spanish geographical variant for those of you who want to know its from the very nothwest of spain, a region called Galicia ".
I cannot distinguish what they say when they see you.
PS : Tell me how to put background color of the texto to black (e.g. when you write a spoiler) and I'll write what the say at the end of the demo.

Well I don't think there would be any point to changing the language. It's only logical that they speak Spanish given the region the game takes place in, so changing it to another language would just go against that. It wouldn't make sense to have them speaking another language.
But I do see what you mean. You run into a problem if the game suggests that Leon doesn't understand Spanish. Having a Spanish dub would mean Leon speaking the same language as the villagers. I would just put subtitles for all his lines, and then leave the villagers alone.
Yeah, I do wonder what Capcom did for the Onimusha 3 release. I suppose they could have just assumed that French was the bridge lanuage instead of English. Then you only have to deal with two languages in the game.

Thing is no RE game that I can remember has been dubbed into spanish so...GDJustin said:
I still remember when RE was released here completely in english (with no english subtitles btw), and how some friends were trying to decipher the whole dialogue with Wesker at the end. I could understand what he was saying just fine, but hearing my friends making shit up on the fly as Wesker continued with his little monologue was pure comedy gold.

Hehe, RE4 iz definitely going to be a great game! On a side note, it seems Capcom removed the attacking female villagers from the demo.
