So anyway, I signed on to msn this evening and saw that my girlfriend's display name had "[I love JESSICA, Akil, Bucky Son, Deltrice and Nilyne!!!!!!!]". So I'm like...

GF: IT'S THE ROAD TO STARDOM
GF: AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING PPL
GF: AND I WROTE A PERSONAL MESSAGE TO AKILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

GF: i love him so much
GF: BUT I LOVE JESSICA THE MOST
GF: WHEN SHE SINGS, I CRY
GF: CUZ SHE COMES FROM "THE HOOD"
GF: DO U KNOW WHAT THE HOOD IS?
How can i explain to her that TV is the source of idiocity, zombie consumerism and a tool for controlling the masses. She studies ALOT (probably 10 times more than me) and TV is practically her only form of entertainment, so it's a shame to see such a capable young girl acting like this. I told her that tv is a source of decadence and that she might be able to sing and do the things she's always wanted if she didn't spend her free time watching other people do that stuff instead. She brought up the fact that I play videogames, which is a fair argument even if I never talk to her about them and generally keep a very fine line about my gaming interest and my social life, to show that videogames are not my alpha and omega, but...
"DO U KNOW WHAT THE HOOD IS?"
She persists on saying that the people on Road to stardom have alot of talent. I never watch tv so i don't know, but do they? This isn't the point, but I'd like to know if she actually has any taste for music or if she's really just being tossed around like pawn by the image and the shallowness instead of the content.
