Unless you want to have the newest graphic cards on day 1, AGP should last you at least until next gen. I think you'll be fine with going with an AGP board. Considering the speed at which CPU interfaces are changing, you're not going to be able to use 1 mobo persistently through multiple upgrades anyway.
