I dont know much about hard liquor but I need to get some. What's good for driking straight? Something like Stoli?

i drink my drinks neat, so the only thing i can recommend off the top of my head is Malibu, a coconut-flavored rum. Since you're not a liquor drinker, i'd recommend drinking mostly beer and not overdoing that, and maybe a couple of shots or mixed drinks towards the end of the night. No point in passing out at 10 because you can't handle your liquor and missing out on the night.

Anyway, cheap vodka and OJ is always sure to get you fucked up and more, buy lots of orange juice though.

As for me I'll be knocking back The Dalmore 12 year on ice of course.

I just actually read your post.... Vodka is something I've never been able to drink straight, I like Scotch, which is what I'm drinking now, pretty much any bourbon can be had straight. Jagermeister can be had straight, ususally in shots, Souther Comfort is also pretty decent.

Bacardi brezzers, Mezo, Smirnoff Ice Black are a good choice

i assume by "straight" you mean "straight from the bottle"? Malibu's considered a girlie drink by many, so any chance of being a hardcore drunk is effectively nulified by the perceived girliness of it. Shots are the way to go, or on the rocks if it's not cold, but again, don't go crazy, especially if you're trying to hook up.

I think I'll also grab a bottle of Bailey's. That stuff is just too good mixed with the right dairy products. Milk shakes and ice creams could potentially get you sloshed. :lol

ACK. I don't like Malibu. Try Parrot Bay instead it’s yummy! Taste better then that diluted crap. Another one you might want to try straight up (actually I don't know any drink that has it as an ingredient off the top of my head) is Sambuca. Get it chilled at room temperature the stuff taste pretty powerful. You will actually see the fumes but chilled its quite good. It’s the perfect after dinner drink for the holidays.


...that and give a ginger bread martini, the stuff taste like Christmass, thats the best I can describe it. It's also pretty powerful, not for the light drinker. Will have you flat on your ass in no time. Taste great though!

I'm drinking a variety of stuff tonight. First up was some whisky (Wiser's Special Edition, fairly good stuff). Then I moved on to my favourite liquor, rum (in this case, the Cuban Havana Club - Anejo Blanco. I've been hooked on this stuff since I visited the country last summer) and now I'm having a Guinness before, of course, the traditional champagne.

[edit] As for your question, whisky/scotch is usually best drunk straight or with very little water/ice. For me at least, it starts tasting horrible when it's too watered down. I also like rum straight but it definitely benefits from mixing in a bit of water.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who has heard this rumor. I havent tried it myself, but i have had goldschlager before and it got to me a lot quicker than other drinks out there.

I would just say a nice bottle of Makers Mark... smooth and good. Crown Royal is also a nice favorite around this year in the cold.
