Track List
1. Monarchy of Roses
2. Factory of Faith
3. Brendan’s Death Song
4. Ethiopia
5. Annie Wants a Baby
6. Look Around
7. The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie
8. Did I Let You Know
9. Goodbye Hooray
10. Happiness Loves Company
11. Police Station
12. Even You Brutus?
13. Meet Me at the Corner
14. Dance, Dance, Dance

Been listening to this the past few days, pretty good, although I think I prefer Stadium Arcadium. The loss of Frusciante isn't really that big of an impact it seems.

Brendan's Death Song is so amazing.

I expected a little bit more, but still liked it (and it's still growing on me). Loved Look Around, and Meet me at the corner (mostly because of some amazing little arrangements). Monarchy of roses, factory of faith and Goodbye hooray are pretty good too.

I support Klinghoffer 100%.

Meant to pick this up sometime this week. Are most songs like Rain Dance Maggie or are there some harder rocking songs?

It's alright so far, Even you Brutus and Meet Me at the Corner are the big standouts for me so far.

my favorite band so I dont really have anything bad to say no matter what they do. josh does a good job on the album for not being frusciante. brendans death song and police station were the two that stood out at first to me. the more I listen the more I really like it. flea did a fantastic job especially

Boring album is really really painfully boring.

It's just more of the same and that is a damn shame. Guess you just get contented when you get older.

No, not at all, but with the recent addition of a new guitarist you'd think there'd be something there. Just enough of a spark to try something a bit new.

I'm really digging this album more than I thought I would. Not up there with their best work (BSSM, Mother's Milk, Californication) but better than Stadium Arcadium and By the Way.

Favorite songs so far are Factory of Faith, Brendan's Death Song, and Ethiopia.

I wasn't too impressed my first listen through, honestly. Just sounded a bit uninspired, but there were definitely some high points (Brendan's Death Song is the most striking on the album). I'll give it another listen tomorrow.

As for classifying it as "yuppie rock," the guys aren't in their 20's anymore. Their slower songs are just sound more genuine at this point.

It's not even "more of the same" as that would imply that, while rehashed, it's at least as good as previous offerings.

It's not bad music...it's just unmemorable.

I loved Stadium Arcadium, and granted I've only listened to the album once so far, but I'm a little disappointed. Hopefully a lot of the songs that I'm on the edge with will grow on me, or maybe I'll hear some new surprises I didn't catch before.

Yeah I'm not really feeling it either. RHCP used to be my absolute favorite band, I have a massive collection still. It needs more guitar work, the guitars on the album are so minimalistic and Frusciante-lite. I bet Josh could rock out too.

Fucking love it.

To those who are saying it's more of the same, what did you think of Happiness Loves Company? I thought it was entirely different for Peppers.

Preferring Stadium Arcadium over this speaks volumes about how crap this is. It's so lifeless. Can't believe it's the same band I used to crowdsurf to.

One of the greatest bands ever based on their BSSM era stuff alone. Didn't even realize Froosh wasn't in the band anymore which sucks cuz he pretty much carried the other slackers on Stadium Arcadium. One Hot Minute was cool though, so I'm always hopeful for their new stuff.

Along with Pearl Jam, these guys have a tendency to want to prove they can still write songs akin to their breakout work and it always comes off forced. If all of the songs sound like the Rain Dance Maggie song I just heard, then maybe they've decided to accept that they have mellowed out a bit. Which is good. They don't play shows with socks on their junk anymore.

The album starts off strong, but the second half is really uninteresting, and the whole thing lacks a standout song.

I actually felt the opposite... first half was a bit forgettable, but a fairly strong exit. I actually really like Police Station, Even you Brutus, and Meet me at the corner. Before that I have yet to find a couple that have stood out to me.

I understand how people could not like it if you expect their old material. But you have to accept that they are not that band anymore, and have not been for a while. I myself prefer old rhcp, but I still enjoy their current music. Monarchy of roses is the best song on the album

Frusciante makes this band. They should just stop making albums whenever he leaves

dude you are totally right. ill let flea chad and anthony know they are nothing with out frusciante. this also means that the albums with hillel and navarrow sucked as well?

Wasn't feeling it the 1st time I heard it, but it definitely grew on me and now I love it! And personally more RHCP material is always a good thing :D

Top Songs:
Police Station (wow just wow)

Also worth mentioning: Brendan's Death Song, Factory of Faith

I only gave them one listen, but nothing about the second half stood out to me. On the other hand, Brendan's Death Song had this wistfully melancholic sound that I really liked. It might be my favorite song on the album.
