Planned for 2010 with Rose McGowan as Sonja and Simon West as Director. Lots of recastings happened when they finally started filming in 2022 with Matilda Lutz as Sonja and M. J. Bassett as Director.


After a lot of weird casting choices, this doesn't look too bad
Obviously not AAA, but the one from 1985 was cheap too, it bombed and critics hated it lol

I remember the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Brigitte Nielsen, I still envy her cooch for landing Sylvester Stallone in the 80's but anyway, this one looks like garbage, I might have a watch if it is on tv and I'm extreme bored but it really does look like dogshit and I wish Hollywood would leave the classics alone.

Huh, they finally got something made, etc? The Lutz chick is cute enough, but waaaaay too lean. Sonja is a FIGHTER, not a yoga instructor! She ain't gonna sell any of those fights and it will be a jump cut mess.

All those bad guys look like shady accountants, the casting for this is a mess. I get they probably needed reedy guys to match their reedy lead but shit, if they are gonna have her fight a 20 foot minotaur or whatever that was, then at least anchor this trash with some burly male actors of repute. That they couldn't get Gerard Butler, Ron Perlman, Frank, Grillo, or at least Nic Cage for this is disappointing (or shit, Kevin Sorbo as a ghost King Kull, why the fuck not?).

Prime Rose McGowan would have been sweet, though I guess we kinda got that with her Conan bit

I did like the nod to the classic outfit, too bad it would fall right off the actress
