Report: Sony will soon launch a FIFA 23 PS5 bundle with two Dual Sense controllers Sept 30th.

https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/09/14/sony-launch-ps5-fifa-23-bundle-dualsense-controller/
This would be in line with the company’s usual strategy of making a FIFA bundle following the launch of the latest annual FIFA video game release. However, a notable inclusion in the upcoming iteration of this bundle will include not only the PS5 (in both Digital and Optical version) and FIFA 23, but also an additional DualSense controller as well. For those unaware, the Japanese tech giant usually launches its PS5 with just one controller.

But the new bundle will feature two controllers out of the box. This also makes a lot of sense considering FIFA is also a co-op title and is often enjoyed with friends on the same game console. As of right now, the exact pricing for the Sony PlayStation 5 FIFA 23 bundle is still unclear. Furthermore, its availability details is also at large and it is unknown if the brand will be launching the bundle in markets like India.

Based on the report, the new FIFA 23 bundle for the PS5 will likely launch sometime around the launch of the game itself, which is set to release on 30th September 2022

If this bundle is true, how much this matters will depend on the price of the bundle.

If the price has NOT changed in countries outside the US where Sony hoked the price of the PS5 around $50-$100, then the 2nd controller bundled with the console could potentially justify paying the new increased price. Because a Dual Sense controller itself is $60-$80 based on where you buy it and what region you are in. For those who buy Fifa and have a friend over or big gatherings, or want to have the game for an event, this would be no different than buying a standard PS5 and buying an extra controller. Only those who only one to play Fifa online, SP, or already have an extra controller wouldn't want it. Or those who don't want to buy Fifa.

However, if the cost for having this second controller bundled in and/or the Fifa 23 game, adds to the price, this may be the dumbest single bundle in the history of gaming and will surely be DOA.

Why would a PS5 be DOA?

Pretty sure a $600-700 PS5 in Europe or Asia would be DOA. If the game and extra controller raise the price.

But if it's just the price hike cost, and neither the game or the extra controller raise the price, than it would be the same price as if you went and brought a PS5 with an extra controller anyway, and you get a free game, which knocks the price back to $499 or slightly below.

I suppose if you remove context and pretend I only typed that sentence by itself.

but then if you read the actual post

it makes perfect sense. Causals even in EU aren't going to pay $600-700 to play Fifa.

Not really I've seen some horrible bundles fly off the shelves. That's how desperate some are to get a PS5. Glad I didn't fall for those. Maybe imagine things differently if that helps you.

Sounds like a good way to hide that 50 euro price hike. Most people need more than one controller and a lot of people love the FIFA franchise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the price hike. I'm just saying this is a decent way to help people swallow that bitter pill.

People are already paying 600 for it second hand. Come Christmas they'll pay 800 second hand. Ps5 most in demand console ever.

I’m going to go out on a limb and disagree with the OP and say that a PS5 FIFA bundle, even at MSRP for all bundled components, will sell just fine.

Yes dozens of people, not hundreds of thousands or millions. Especially close to the holidays when everything starts cutting prices. Why would a casual buy a $600 or $700 PS5 even in Europe? it literally doesn't make sense, Fifa comes out on Sept 30th, many FIFA buyers are going to wait for deals late October onward. Outside the early adopters how many people running over old ladies at Mediamarkt are for 60% of discounts are going to stop thinking about sales to pay a full premium for a PS5 just to play Fifa and get an extra controller? the extra controllers by itself will probably be discounted outside of the bundle lol.

Supply and demand. And it's not dozens of people. The console is like gold dust. Everybody wants it.

OP do you realize that even crappy forced bundles made by Gamestop adding the leftovers they want to get rid of have been selling out at 700-750€ prices?
It wouldn't be bad to get in contact with reality.
Price is not a concern with PS5 at this stage in any form.

£100 more than RRP is my guess so £489.99 DE and £579.99 disc. Feels like a long time ago that the PS4 launched at £349 right now.

Sony just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about British culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Britain, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the British public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FIFA for either system, nor will they purchase any of Sony's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Sony has alienated an entire market with this move.

Sony, publicly apologize and cancel the PS5 FIFA bundle or you can kiss your business goodbye.

It's going to be about £100 on top of a UK PS5 Bundle. No way Sony are going to give anything away free.

You just don't get how important Fifa is to the gaming crowd.

People will gladly pay this to get a ps5.

There were a short stock in my country where you could get a ps5 with two controllers and horizon for 1100 euro and it got sold out.

At this point isn't it cheaper to buy from a scalped?

Sad to see that UK apparently still has shortages of the PS5. You can buy one pretty much anytime in USA.

Depends on where you are. Larger metro areas, SOL, smaller rural areas, maybe.
I was more talking about online. No idea about in stores. The HFW bundle has been in stock online at playstation direct for weeks, if not months, it seems like.

I seen those bundles there, they sold out within the hour of each time being listed.
