Resident Evil Zero

yay, we need rebecca and billy in another resident evil
oh, and the cgs for this game are awesome, the best in a resident evil game so far ( and maybe forever?)

Nay, there's a reason they changed the game so much for RE4.

yeah, but 0 hs the most refined gameplay of all the normal resident evils you can drop itens anywhere and use herbs without picking them up

It's crap.

Here's one of many reasons why...

Yay for people who love the old school RE gameplay.

Nay for people who don't like it.

Simple as that.

NAY. Its the worst RE ever. The whole 'buddy' wasting your ammo and getting hit wasting herbs sucks ass. Not to mention it kills the the entire 'alone in a scary mansion OMGWTFBBQ I think I hear something! no its just the dumb NPC is always following you around.

Only play if you really love the series.

I really wasn't a fan of it. I didn't like that you had to just leave things on the floor instead of having item boxes. Sure, item boxes suck too, but it's better having to backtrack to a save room then to backtrack to some random room god knows how far away. The fact that the plot is kinda inconsequencial also hurts.

Basically, if you love RE, and have beaten REmake, 2, 3 and Code Veronica, THEN get RE0.

Yay!

Good game, far from the best in the series but great graphics, not bad music, good atmosphere, fun boss fights (especially the last one). Although it has a pretty bad story line, it's very short and still retains those clunky controls we all hate.

Plus, Billy is great!

It felt boring.

It didn't have the thrills of REmake.

It didn't have the action and setting of RE2.

It was a slow RE...that wasn't scary.

Slow...and not scary.

Nay.

no crimson heads is a plus
having to burn every zombie I killed sucked

the crimson heads added tension. if you didnt burn them you had to be very afraid to pass that corridor again.

It was good(got a bit boring toward the end tho), but REmake with all the extra areas and additions was much better. MUCH better.

+1 crimson heads. AWESOME!

i was more scared of the controls on those tight corridors than the crimson heads, but I must admit that hearing them running after you was a thrill

What he said.

REmake is much better.

A qualified yay. REmake is overall better, but Zero still plays well and looks great. I liked the dual char setup and drop items bit, however imperfect it was. Difficulty is also agreeably high, Zero seemed to be the hardest of the REs on first "virgin" playthrough. But, for instance, making sure to switch the other character's state into standby until their extra shots are needed makes a big difference in ammo inventory IIRC.

if it wasn't for remake i would have never gotten into RE.

i tried over and over till i played it and when i did i was hooked.

I'm a long time RE fan so IÂ’m probably a bit biasedÂ…

Yay

It's my least favorite RE but it's still really fun. I bought it for $20 two years ago so it should be real cheap now. You can't go wrong with getting it...

Btw the reason I think it is the weakest of all the titles is because of the lack of chests to put your items into, so when you move throughout the mansion you have to go back and forth between rooms to pick up and drop off important items and shit. Even with two characters it's still a lot to carry around. You will spend a lot of time just moving sutffÂ… =/

I was pleased with the game by the end thoughÂ…

You unequipp them (which you should be doing, since the run faster unequipped) and control them with the C-stick.

To me, few escort missions have ever pleased me. Well, actually, I haven't played that many, but I tend to find the a.i annoying, in the way, or just plain ruin the atmosphere.

To have an entire game, particularly one which is all about being 'alone in the dark', is practically suicide. Immersion is ruined when you play as more than one character at a time - it makes no sense to me (character switching being an even more annoying beef than pure escort).

Escort missions I have actually enjoyed:
RE4
Ico
And for some reason, Goldeneye/PD

I hated:
Zelda Wind Waker (yes, cool puzzles, but still annoying)
Metal gear Solid series

Falls just short of being the best traditional RE. That honor still goes to 2.

But the game's a lot of fun. The lack of a magical item box adds to the tension, and it's undeniably fun to gun down a horde of zombies with some backup to help you out.

Yay.

Like people have said, its the Hardest RE game to date. Which is probably why a lot of the weaksauce gamers hate it.

Wait till you run into the Leech Zombie :)

pfft. It wasn't that hard. If they would of let your buddy control the other character it would of been better. Switching characters the whole game was lame. And the Characters themselves where lame. Redneck ex-military wrongly convicted but really he has soft side.

Its OK that not every RE was good. RE0 was the low point in the series. So unless you've played ever other one (main ones of course, not including outbreak and other crap) Don't worry about RE0.

no offense, but if you're wasting herbs and ammo, you didnt figure out how to play Zero properly. you can set the second character to not shoot at anything. also, like someone said, you controll them with the c-stick.

the two person system works quite well when you get used to it.

its completely not an escort mission. you assume the role of either character at any time. you can have you secondary character play offensively or defensively, and you can controll their movements which comes in very handy if one is injured.

the lack of boxes is a bit wierd to get used to at first. took me awhile. but i actually find it one of the easier RE games.

i love the music, graphics, mechanics, and a lot of the scenery. its more then worth what its selling for now.

Seriously, the game was a fucking joke after REmake.

Plot sucked.
Anime girlie-man villan sucked.
Controlling two characters sucked.
A shotgun taking up two inventory spots sucked.

And very every bit of "innovation" they added with the two characters and lack of item box... they made up for by removing the Crimson Heads and defense items from REmake.

oh, and the giant scorpion who crashes through the roof of a moving train also sucked.
Did you know he's on the spine of the game's case? WTF were they thinking with that?

Yay.

how come people say this game is hard? Leech Zombies were easy once you had molotov cocktails. the whole Buddy system actually makes the game easier my strategy was to never had them fight enemies together if there were enemies in a room I just put the "stay put" command to either one of the characters while I went to fight the enemies with just one character. Having no item box was cool also, I like Zero because of all the normal REs, Zero was the mos strategic one. Although I gotta agree the game was no very scary.

Seems like the two character system ain't worth a shit!

RE0 was a step back for the series with its pre-rendered graphics, and the series was getting pretty stale at that point anyway. Thank god for RE4.

Still better than the remake, though.
