Curious if you guys are having a lot of people cancel their pre-orders now that the $399 price is out there?

I think it's more like a combination of hardcore people, and people who walk into the store and ask, "Hey when's Xbox 2 coming out?", fall for the "really hard to get" speech the employee will give, and throw down $50. Come November, they might be deceived if they go the cheap route.

Luckily GAF is a temple of truth and piety - nobody will post in here claiming to work for an EB that took 50 cancellations. Nor will any Nbots simply pretend to cancel an imaginary order because the rage is leaking from their pores.


Nor will anyone cancel a real order out of some misplaced sense of outrage, then regret it when there are none available in Nov.

you guys think that there will be an initial shortage? i'm thinking of pre-ordering a few boxes and selling them on ebay.

i don't see what the big fuss is about price honestly, especially if you have a decent job. most of the people complaining are either children, broke, or have never been involved in building a gaming pc. that alone costs upwards of $2000 depending on your specs and tends to get obsolete quick.

at least with the x360, we can expect it to last a few years.

then again, it's GAF -- complainer central.

How's it a good deal, when 24 hours ago you thought you were getting the HDD, the wireless controller, and the A/V Component cables for $299? That's what the Xbox fans have been saying for weeks, if not months.
