Return to Silent Hill gets a theatrical release on January 23 2026.

I 100% agree. SH2re music was not that great. But his work in Slitterhead still has his unique sound. I'm almost positive it had to do with the additional composer for SH2re or maybe his budget was not that great.
I guess that it's matter of "you can't fix what is not broken"

The original trilogy is a product of it's time. Can't get better by new controls or gameplay options or whatever. There's lots of games that needs, and those doesn't because having the limitations of back then just helped those titles. I believe that even the best of the best can't achieve, and even the original guys can't

Remember that the director of Godfather, one of the best movies ever made, can't do a single good shit nowadays

Yeah it definitely hasn't had a smooth lifecycle. But reading that Yamaoka enjoyed it is pretty neat. But I'm definitely not getting my hopes up, lol.
Sakaguchi also said Final Fantasy 16 is the best one to date. So Yamaoka's verdict holds very little weight

I don't know why he did SH 2 Remake's soundtrack, when the original is far superior. Sometimes these people can't let well enough at alone. SH2 Remake's soundtrack was a massive downgrade. But his soundtrack for Slitterhead on the other hand is some of his best work.

The one shot I saw of Maria, she really didn't look right. Looks like the Corpos have no confidence in this movie.

I liked the casting in the first movie (and the movie itself, at least for most part). But this? I just don't feel it, especially the main duo that's supposed to play very important roles.

They also need to fire their costume department.

Hence me saying neat and not something with more weight, lol.
No I completely understand. Didn't disagree with you with you. It's like when Haze released Korn came out and said "Haze is the shit" and it was literally shit. But I did enjoy Haze though, wasn't great but fun. I have very low expectations for Return To Silent Hill.

Yeah, in almost any case these days I feel there's absolutely nothing wrong with being cautious and reserved. It's much better than having expectations and those expectations fail.
