Reviews - Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

Finished it. 10/10 for me. It just kept delivering. The best story PG has ever written as well, excluding NieR.

Bayonetta 4 is for sure happening and I cannot wait.
Bayonetta in hell reunited with Cheshire is my guess.
Feels like I need to replay Bayonetta 3 now and I'd get a lot more out of the story.

Starting this post game thing now.

Its not showing on the Switch clock yet. Probably will tomorrow. Felt similar to past Bayonetta games. 12-15. Not a super long game but felt satisfying.

12-15 hours is perfect length for these kinda games imo. Loved reading your impressions on the game. Mentioning both Okami and El Shaddai peaked my interest, since they are some of my favorite games and very few games even come close to resembling them because they are so unique.

Well I hope you like it! It took a tiny bit to get used to, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm sure I will, if it's anything like those games you mentioned.
In specific ways it is. Visual / art style reminds me in a vague "spiritual sequel" sort of way to Okami / El Shaddai.

Has Zelda "vibes." But it is a lot more linear, light / casual exploration.

Some nods to Platinum combat, but its all about controlling two characters at once so they keep it light and casual. But fun.

Post game complete. A fun epilogue for sure. Hints at what they can do in a part 2 with higher difficulty. The potential is huge.

Really tempted to replay the trilogy, but I can't right now. On to new games.

I'm on chapter 5 now, and this game just gets better and better.
Truly one of 2023s most under-rated gems.
Glad I picked up a physical copy. I have a feeling this will be considered a cult classic.

Finished a day ago after grabbing a physical for 30. Truly Platinum's best effort in quite a while.
I'm a big fan of games like Okami, El Shaddai, and character action and I feel this hits all bulletpoints and wears its influences with pride. Truly an underrated cult classic.

It has many similarities with Nier, Astral Chain, Okami, and obviously Bayo while still being it's own thing.

That last boss was a rush!

Loved it, hope they make games like these in the future.
