Side by side comparison between the Playstation 5 emulation of the original PS1 version of Ridge Racer (available via Playstation Plus Premium) and the PC emulator Duckstation (4k resolution and PGXP enhancements activated) of the original 1994 release and the 60FPS "Turbo Mode" version, released in 1998.

You don't have to have PS+ to play the classes you can also buy them but the days of weekly PSN & Xbox Live threads kept us more informed about releases

Being able to purchase some classics has nothing to do with my point. It's often a chore to seek out new classics or trials offerings in the PS+ App.

The PS app sucks balls when it comes to finding stuff. I usually end up starting a remote play session to my PS5 to find what I'm looking for.

The PS5 app is what I was talking about, but I can only imagine what a mobile app would be like.

Yep, I'll never understand that desire to be so conservative when emulating classic PSX or PS2 games. Old 3D games don't look good on modern screens unless they're rendered in HD (preferably with downsampling) or at least have a good CRT filter.

My point was that the online community did a better job of keeping us informed of releases when there was a weekly schedule for releases .

How the fuck have we had this many posts and not one

The emulated/improved version looks like the System 22 arcade version now.
The arcade version of the game is also emulated in PS4 (Arcade Archives Ridge Racer), PS5 (Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer) and PC (different emulators like MAME).

There's also the PSP's Ridge Racer 2 emulated for PS4 & PS5 (like the first PSP Ridge Racer this games includes most games, tracks and songs of most titles in the series).

And there's also Ridge Racer Type 4 for PS4 & PS5.
