Is there an incompatibility between the JP version of Ridge Racer and the US version in terms of WiFi?

The reason I ask is that a friend just purchased a US PSP and a copy of Ridge Racer and no matter what we tried, his PSP would not recognize my Japanese PSP when trying to play an Ad Hoc game of Ridge Racer.

Any ideas?

I don't know if they can connect. Probably not. But I do know that you can play multiplayer with one game by passing around the game every time it needs to load. It's kind of a hassle but, it works. I played a couple of races with a friend like that the other day.

It's difficult to believe that a Japanese and US PSP are Wifi incompatible. Anyone else find this to be the case?

i dont think the psps are incompatible. probably just the game. dont know if it means anything, but the US version of Ridge Racer has an extra tour not found in the Japanese version

JP and US PSPs can play WiFi against each other, but they need to have compatible software. The Japanese and US versions of Ridge Racer(s) are not compatible with one another. Same with Lumines.
