I started listening to them last month, based on recommendation from the GAF.
Although it's hard for me to shake the feeling that it's kind of (ick) emo, and a girl singing "fuck" with emphasis can become sort of gimmicky - they still have a lot of great pop songs. And the singing is always always very sexeh. [Jenny sang on the Postal Service album]
But I'm really digging their new album.
It just sounds tighter and more ambitious (I'm avoiding the obvious pun here) than their previous stuff. Jenny's vocals are stronger than ever. The songs are catchy as hell. And my impression is that the music is a bit more layered, and as a result the emotions becomes sorta more direct.
It's sort of a vague description, but I'm sure pop fans know what I'm talking about.
They're coming to Toronto on October 3rd. I'll definitely check'em outttttttttttttt.
