RIP Malcom-Jamal Warner

That's awful, condolences to his family....what a terrible thing to have to deal with.

Grew up with the dude watching the Cosby Show and A Different World...then later when he was on Community.

Wow, that is surprisingly shocking 'cause I haven't thought about that guy for stretch. But like most of us, he was the brother you always wished you had back in the day.

Incredibly sad. I've always been a bit terrified of currents as I'm not a really strong swimmer, I don't seem to be able to float as well as others. I get sweaty palms whenever I'm fishing in places with maelstroms, even if I'm only at land.

That sucks. He was awesome. I actually really liked him in a show called Jeremiah which takes place after a massive plague kills everyone that has gone through puberty.

Was a great series made by the same guy who did Babylon 5. Sadly it ended after 3 seasons and never really got an ending

I was just watching him in Suits. Blows my mind that he died so suddenly.

He looked like the kind of guy who'd have been well loved by those who knew him as he had a natural happy face.

Tragic. I wonder how far out he was.

Although small parts, he was great in Sneaky Pete and Sons of Anarchy. Obvious great on the Cosby Show, but that's unwatchable to me me now (due to the obvious reason). Tragic way to go, may he rest in peace.

I watched the Cosby Show when I was a kid and then reruns as an adult, this was really shocking to read. Bill is 88 and outlived his tv son. Crazy.

It was a pretty good show, but man did JMS recycle the hell out of some Babylon 5 speeches. And JMS was apparently going to bail on the show regardless of whether it was canceled or not.

Warner's co-star was the late great Luke Perry. Between that and the cast of B5, JMS's actors were cursed.

That's pretty much what happened to my cousin in Hawaii, he went with his wife on vacation as they would always go there. Then some man we have never seen before knocks on our door in the middle of the night and asks if he can come in snd sit down to tell us something, that's when we knew he had died. Same story. Went swimming and got pulled out, some guy in one of the apartments saw him and swam out with his boogie board but he had already drown. Places like that have experts you can hire and scuba dive with or swim with, a lot of people dont realize how easy it can happen. I won't touch the water, all I know is how to float on my back and fill lungs with air, but kind of hard to do that when you are getting pushed out and tumbled. If you got kids, teach them how to swim. Unfortunately my parents didn't think it was important enough so had to learn later in life.

I'm sorry to hear this.

When I was around 10 I got pulled out in a rip current. Grew up and lived near the beach all my life. Was absolutely frightening. One sec I'm in knee deep water. Next thing I knew I was underwater in what felt like a river. Breathless and panicked. Popped up about 100 yards off shore exhausted and scared to death. All I knew was swim parallel to the shore and try to get back. Honestly I barely made it back. I was absolutely exhausted. My parents had no idea it even happened. I had to walk probably a quarter mile or more to get back to where my family was on the beach.

Be careful out there. Rip currents are no joke.
