Has Rob run out of cash or something?
If this is a stylist choice, it seems......odd.

The black and white bit seemed fine but it comes off as a very cheap show. Cheaper than the original Munsters.

That's really the best guy they could have gotten for Herman Munster?
Yeah, I have no idea what happened there. That is the one role you absolutely have to get right and they don't appear to even be in the ballpark. Sherri could have been manageable if she wasn't doing an impression. I mean it's a prequel so they would some leeway with her. They did this same premise with The Flintstones sequel and I thought it worked well enough there.

You nailed it. It's doing an impression of the original series in general. Zombie is a vocal fanboy of the franchise and this seems like he's making a movie for himself rather than a general audience

Maybe after all his Halloween remake backlash he's tepid on the idea of allowing too much of his own interpretation to shine through

This ain't it though, not by a mile

I mean after the last reboot I'm all for sticking closer to the original too but yeah this just isn't looking like the right mix so far.

I don’t get the audience of this one, is it supposed to be a kids movie, like a live action Hotel Transylvania? It looks too tame to be for adults. I’ve always been more of an Addams Family fan though…

Looks like a Sketch of Saturday night life or worse...

Well... Nothing is worse than a Sketch from '' Otro rollo TV show''

It looks like hes doing his best to keep it like a continuation of the show. I think sodium vapor instead green screen in the car. A few sped up footage gags that were common/cheap. I wish I knew more about audio but it sounds very outdated so maybe also using a similar recording process. I'm sure big fans of the show will appreciate it and it's probably a ton of fun working in those limitations to try and just "continue" an outdated property as authentically as you can.

I assume that also means he'll mimic the humor as close as possible which may feel a little too basic and the pacing will most likely feel off without a laugh track but I could honestly see him adding that. The good thing is Herman wearing different outfits and a tiny hat is just timeless funny.

Rob Zombie is clearly a talented director. Like someone else said in this thread, this just seems to be what hes going for.

I used to watch the show every morning, grandpa is my favorite.

I’m gonna go ahead and watch this on my firestick when it comes out. It will never compare to the show.

im not into the Munsters this trailer looks pretty bad,im betting tho at the end they will show eddy Munster being born.

Is Eddie born or created? How is a werewolf created between a vampire and a man assembled from other human bodies?
I guess I just answered my own question, Herman could have some werewolf in him from one his body parts?

It seems to be a prequel. Lily is looking for a mate. The nosferatu she meets is rejected. Then Herman is created and Lily goes crazy for him, but Grandpa does not like him. Herman seems to be a playboy/rockstar. I guess the movie is about Grandpa trying to get rid of Herman but in the process, we end up with a transformed Herman, the man-child we know. All speculation of course
Rob seems to have a thing for origin stories no one expects, (Halloween) so if a sequel is ever made it may be more in line with the television show.
