This thread is too big so I just ask:

Thumb up or down for "The Best of The Who"?
Great, great, great pack. I'm not as huge a fan of it as others are (despite possibly being a bigger fan of The Who) but it's certainly not one you want to pass up. Easily stands with the best four packs (Boston, Moving Pictures, and Grateful Dead being the other three).

edit: do know that not all the song are gold on all instruments. While I love the song Real Good Looking Boy, there's not too much interest there on drums...same with Eminence Front. Of course, drums have a BLAST on things like My Generation and Who Are You. Bass has the same issue with other tracks (Behind Blue Eyes) as does Guitar. This is why I don't consider it superior than the Boston pack, in which every song is fun on all instruments.

The code is for enabling the export feature, not for downloading the songs off a server.

You know, what if they allow you to fork out $5 to use the export feature if you don't input the code?
Buy game, use code, return game.

Opened item. You ain't getting full price out of that, unless you bitch to high hell and have a good excuse.
you don't shop much at walmart do you? :lol

Makes me angry that they decided to do this though... Give my online downloads at the current price and not this marked up bullshit :<

Wait, they'd still take it? Dear God...

The don't in Canada I can tell you that much.

Besides that, we don't even know if there will be a code in the game or a downloadable key yet. PR mentions nothing either way, and certainly does not mention the game being Wal-Mart exclusive.

Already so much misinformation :/

Please tell me the only reason they are doing this was because AC/DC won't allow downloadable songs, and this was the ONLY way to get AC/DC in the game?

Or are they trying to kill the platform. What the fuck Harmonix.

Until just recently they would take almost ANYTHING. Having worked at a Sams Club I can tell you the shit that the customers in the know put us through :lol

Basically you could say this

"I bought this game for my little Johnny and he couldn't wait to play! But this game isn't a Xbox game so it didn't work :( Give me store credit now."

and walk out with store credit for the game. They have been getting more strict though, I know that not too long ago people would buy new games cheap or when they B1G1 and return the game to walmart even if they didn't buy it there for store credit (with NO proof they bought it at walmart at all).

doesnt the fact that you can import these songs into RB1 or RB2 keep the platform alive?

Yes it does, but it also shoots down everything they stand for with the DLC Store. Having some songs that are on the store and some that are not would be killing the platform.

I'm betting that AC/DC is so high strung about downloadable stuff, they wouldn't allow it.

Oh yeah, they are:

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/acdc_claim_their_albums_have_sold_better_without_itunes.html

AC/DC guitarist Angus Young has insisted that albums from the bands back-catalogue have sold better without the help of Apple's online music store iTunes.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Young said they would continue their boycott of the service for as long as they refused to allow artists to lock their albums.

The store, which has been credited with reforming the way people buy music, allows users to download individual songs from albums, as well as the full release.

"We don't make singles, we make albums," Young told the newspaper. "We honestly believe the songs on any of our albums belong together.

"If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album - and we don't think that represents us musically."

He added: "We've actually increased our back catalogue sales without being on the site, and at the time we were sternly warned by our management team and our record label that the complete opposite would be the case."

Also, Npeaen has his BSSM DLC videos up, Breaking the Girl and Under the Bridge are glorious.

FUCK!

These are the only two tracks I want off the album and they keep giving me the stuck at 1% thing still. I guess playing them will have to wait until after work :(

I need some more gaffers on my friends list for Battle of the Bands. I wanna see how I stack up to you guys in guitar and vocals. My gamertag is Birdman9887.

Of course, if your band has a vocalist, all this talk of censorship is moot.

I've run into a number of singers online who bitch about the dropped words in Master Exploder and it cracks me up. It's as if they've forgotten that they're holding the damn microphone.

This caused me to think. The most clever and amusing way of dealing with this (or, at least, a very good method) would be to take one of the songs in the game -- bonus points if it's one of the censored songs -- and make up new lyrics that parody the censorship. Sing it, film it, post it on the Tubes and unleash it upon anywhere Harmonix would end up seeing it.

Of course, that would require a lot of effort and no small degree of skill.

Doesn't it not count seeing as RB2 is just a glorified update with a track pack?

A platform would be if the updates are made available to Rock Band 1 owners (at a cost, sure) and a Rock Band 1 owner can buy the Rock Band 2 songs as if they were normal DLC. Just being able to carry songs over doesn't make it a platform, it makes it backwards compatible.

Fedex delayed my drum rocker order AGAIN. Now it's coming in tomorrow and still sitting in some fucking town 2 hours away from my location doing nothing.

In other news FF_VIII wasn't permabanned...yay!

It could be worse. A while back I was getting a receiver shipped to me. For some reason it was shipping FedEx Home Delivery. Since I'd been obsessively tracking it I tried to call in as soon as I got a chance at work to ask them to hold it at the depot for me so I wouldn't have to wait around and go pick it up the next day after work. Well, it turns out that Home Delivery is somehow different than just plain old FedEx. This is a problem because while there was a FedEx depot in town where I'd picked things up before Home Delivery was located an hour and a half away and couldn't, for some reason, leave it for me. Even worse the lady who did the delivery stopped her route at something like 4 PM and I had nobody else who could sign for it. Things actually worked out by her leaving a note on my door with her cell phone number and I was able to get in touch with her personally and arrange to meet her in a parking lot while she did her rounds during my lunch break.

This is just about the absolute worst possible way to deliver a product. I still don't entirely understand the difference between Home Delivery and regular FedEx considering they both ship to homes.

While I was living in the dorms in college if packages or any other mail came in at my dorm they were complete assholes and wouldn't sort through it until around 5 PM or so. Even if I could see it sitting behind the desk with my name on it and delivery confirmation online the bastard at the desk couldn't take a minute to fill out a slip so I could sign for it. He had to wait for the guy whose job it was to do it. My girlfriend's dorm had absolutely no such problems and actually put out package notices as soon as they arrived. Our dorms were next to each other and while hers was great mine was probably the worst on campus. Hers was renovated three times (along with every other dorm on campus) while in ours they just tore all the lining out of the elevators (half-assedly and without replacing it with anything) while the smell of piss in them merely continued to get worse every year. But dude, I had my own suite.

I wonder how Walmart makes any money at all.

By forcing suppliers to move operations overseas in order to lower their costs as much as humanly possible or risk being locked out of sales in their stores.

Hey, Pron was an amazing film with some great effects for it's time. It still holds up as having what I consider the finest User on Program orgy scene of all time.

I got an email back from Madcatz today. They're sending me a new 360 mic clip (That I admitted that I broke) for the Mad Catz stand I bought. :) No questions asked! Awesome! Thanks Mad Catz!

I bet after she did her rounds he did his rounds. Eh?

Well I did end up using up my entire lunch break and possibly arriving back at work a minute or two late (and since it was a call center that meant that it was logged against me because they're always fucking watching you by the second). It was a terrible experience and for a small town it shouldn't take an hour to find your way to just about anywhere.

How is the mic stand? is it worth the money? Or is it typical Madcatz quality....

That was incredibly less sexy and erotic than I imagined.

Well how about how she got it out of the back of her truck and immediately put it right into the trunk of my car. Having a bit of trouble getting the large, bulky, and awkward package into a place where I'd never really put something that large before.

Or how I ran into her again a few months later when after our initial (and presumed to be only) encounter she shows up at my door and has a rather large and unexpected bundle for me....

OK, that time wasn't erotic either. The company just needed to replace my remote and since I was the first replacement part they did for the product they sent a notice down to shipping to send just the remote and they screwed up and shipped me an entire receiver. So a few months

I find it interesting that AC/DC are so insistent on locking down sales to albums considering they've never really made great use of the album format. I suspect it's because if you've heard their hits you've really heard just about all of their output. I like them, but seriously, it's the style they've chosen to work in. I guess they just don't want people downloading two or three songs and having all the AC/DC they'll ever need.

so basically she was a tranny

No, that would have been me noticing that she had a rather large and unexpected package and would have occurred during the initial encounter. I specifically avoided saying "package" in that phrasing. Think again for the appropriate insinuation.

Hmm... so now that I think about it Costanza was combining food and sex, was TV involved in this somehow because, honestly, we should have seen this coming given his namesake.
