Almost beat the Impossible Drum Challenge solo. I could easily beat it with a band, but it feels like a wuss move. I'm pretty sure I've figured out where to deploy my OD in Panic Attack to survive, so it's only a matter of trying again at this point. Am I just getting better at the game, or is the setlist overall easier for drums than RB1?

Also, I elaborated/ranted on this more over on SA, but I hate the No-Fail mode in RB2. It takes a lot of the fun out of party mode when people pick difficulties above their own level and the song now sounds like ass.

disturbed is terrible. iron maiden sucks balls and the only reason anyone ever wants to play their music is to see how bad they can get destroyed on the drums.

I want The Prisoner, with a patch to enable music videos to play in the background.
Maiden needs to be in more. They just have to choose the right songs.... Which usually means NOT the ones everyone knows.

Yes, my legs are set so that my left is directly below the yellow ride cymbal and the right is pretty much sitting between the yellow and blue toms.onemic said:
As for the cymbals. You're getting two of them. I'd recommend you using one for the high hat (yellow cymbal, set to the left of the red pad) and the other as the crash (green cymbal above the yellow tom). Both of these will take some getting used to, as the game has programmed your arms to move center left for yellow and far right for green. If you don't want to do the crash there, you can put the blue ride cymbal over the blue tom. However, once you get the positioning down, and you have more of the songs memorised, you'll find that the set flows much better. Just remember, unless otherwise needed in a fill, your left hand stays on red.
I've included two images below showing two drum layouts you might want to copy. You can see their leg positions in both, and I've put coloured dots on the drums to indicate what they correspond to in rock band.
This is pretty much what I'm closest to, with the rack toms leading towards the right of the snare.
You might also be comfortable with this set-up. He is very left-of-center with the rack toms centered on the snare, and his kick pedal out in the open. The positioning of the floor tom is closer to what I've done with my green, as is the position of the green crash inrelation to the yellow tom below it.
And this is Terry Bozzio's drum kit...I'm not about to do the colours here....

Although I have to wonder if drums would even be possible with a single pedal on something like certain Dream Evil and Rhapsody tracks.
