Why so down? I've always wanted to play 3 songs from an artist in what isn't actually an arena thanks to a licensing agreement!

If the songs are in Quickplay than you'll presumably be able to play them in any arena. Unless the POWER of Tool takes over the stage.

Maybe I'll be able to play them on the NYC "This is the most pointless one ever, you can't see the audience" one, with adverts for The Golden Compass playing in the background!

JonathanEx, cynic since he realised it's great for hits.

I'm all for realistic settings, but bitching about Times Square because of not being able to see the crowd from where you play is overboard.

It's more just the amusing factor of what a pointless gig. All your fans turn up to see...

a building you're on the top of. :P

At least if you break your guitar up there you're more likely to keep it broken then to have it magically reappear on a floating strap.

where the hell is my smells like teen spirit and the color and the shape damnit!

Also, they should have released Stadium Arcadium from RHCP instead next week.

Hey, its more likely for people to show up for that gig than for then to go to hell to watch a battle with the Devil.

From my research, guitar battles with demons are done in front of audiences.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FUCK!!!!!!!!

FUCK YOU YOU STUPID FUCKING GAME NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I just failed Panic Attack at 96% on solo drums after an hour of trying to get through the fucking intro.

FUUUUUUUUCK

LOL...that list is more like a wishlist than anything. Never gonna happen.

Are there any fast, fun drum songs on any of the albums that are out, with the exception of Debaser and YYZ? I need to get my speed on.

HAHAHAhAHA

FUCK YOU MIKE PORTNOY! Just beat it after like three more tries. I got wicked strategies now for surviving the fucked up parts.

Wooooo! Beat Impossible Drum Challenge on expert alone!!!!

I know that list is 100% fake, but still this is something Harmonix has needed to do for a while. Screw this being nice to the competition, we know that they have several of the on disk GH songs, and they have a complete advantage with their weekly DLC release which they should use it to the fullest extent.

Rock Band needs a GH : WT screw you pack up the week of or before release. Any company with business sense would do the same.

It takes at least six months to create a DLC song, including licensing, charting, testing, debugging, etc. Including the original leak by dork, we've known the setlist for, what, only two months? It'd be funny to see a "GH:WT pack," but it'd be impossible to do unless Harmonix 1) also licensed a GHWT song for DLC around the same time Neversoft licensed it (ala Stone Roses), or 2) knows what GHWT's setlist would be many months ahead of time through a spy or some shit, which would be extraordinarily messed up.

I call bullshit on that 6 months thing. The Weezer Red Album pack and the MTV2 stuff was far too prompt.

And the idea of releasing songs from GHWT sounds good until you realise most GH players are on Wii or PS2, and the people that download a lot of DLC are probably the kind of people that are preordering GHWT. I won't buy anything thats in WT, and I think I'm a fairly typical "hardcore" player. Release stuff the competition doesn't have. BE A LEADER!

It pry takes less time these days, what with the success of the game and getting better at charting. I'd go with 6 as maybe a mean.

6 months does seem a bit excessive. Especially as licensing shouldn't be too much of a hurdle now (much easier to license when you've got product to show, something to point to and go "it's a success"), and practice.

I don't see what can take so long. Stuff like Moving Pictures, sure. Takes awhile to sort that out. The latest adver-content where Harmonix were clearly approached, not so much.

People, if you're going to make a list as a hoax, at least do some research.
I can't believe Costanza fell for that shit.

what do they gain from that? people that are going to buy WT are probably going to buy it anyway.

Agreed. I'd say it's more likely people WON'T buy it anyway because they are planning on getting WT anyway and don't want to double dip.

Ugh. I'm trying to get back into the real guitar and I'm worse than before (and trust me I am not very good). I haven't touched it since RB2 came out. :-/

BARELY. I know like 8 chords, can do the Pentatonic scale (slowly) and can kinda get something out that sounds like Brain Stew, lol.

I've almost completed my pedal mod on my old Strat. I did it a little different than what's pictured - I drilled a hole since there's no chance in hell I can RMA the thing - but it went fine. I hate working with solder in close quarters like that because it's not sticky so it won't stay where I put it. At any rate, I just need to pick up the pedal and hope the connectors were connected properly.

I didn't fall for anything. I said in my post that it was probably bullshit.

There is no way that list is true, mainly because I would enjoy playing 90% of it. So far, Harmonix has yet to crack the 50% boarder.

Well, Im so glad Harmonix is confident is their shittastic fucking hardware, because having the red pad die on my RB2 drums is doing wonders for my confidence in them.

Is the Ion rocker pedal better than the RB1/RB2 pedal? How does it fair against the omega/destroyer pedal? I keep hearing complaints about how the pedal is crap.

It's not crap, but it's not the omega pedal either. The mechanics are the same as the stock pedal (spring underneath) but it's FAR more solid, and the pressure is correct. The thing can take a stomping. The action is very quick, and it does make grace notes much easier to execute.
It does click when it triggers, though, which is what most people hate. It's not horribly loud, but when compared to the quietness of the rest of the set, it stands out.

The omega pedal is still better, but I'd say that there's not much else that beats this one.

also, you got my post a few pages back about layouts, right? Hopefully it's enough to guide you to an 'accurate' set up....by the way, you'll fucking love the set, have fun with it tomorrow.

Just remember to move the mounting bracket for the brain from the center cross bar over to the left arm.

Some more thoughts.

I never really appreciated the progressing, audibly and visibly, through a particular city's venues until I was able to play solo with headphones and really notice the differences. Even going from El Ocho to The Snake Pit felt like me and Jack and Kate and Sawyer were really moving up just a little bit. (BTW, Stand-Ins, in a very simple and subtle way, bring Solo World Tour to a whole other level. I look forward to the new site launching so I can show all of you how awesome Kate Darnit Rock!! looks.)

There are audio differences?!? Please enlighten me as I've never come even close to noticing them before.

Personally my gripe is that it's too easy to progress up in venues. I should have to spend more time playing small clubs before progressing. Maybe it's just their continued goal of making everything exceedingly easy, but I often feel railroaded to continue with the next goal and that getting new clubs is laughably easy. I basically just have to play two songs? That's beyond trivial. Some cities should have tough, high fanbase requirements or something. As it is the higher venues open so quickly that they might as well not even be locked to begin with.
