NeoGAF: my new HOME
There are only 4 weeks until November. This is very exciting.
shantyman said:Are any 3rd party guitars up to snuff with the official ones? I am a PS3 only owner and want to get into RB. I am not sure I can afford the big box so I was wondering...
EDIT: Alternatively, am I a fool to not wait for the RB2 hardware?
M3wThr33 said:Yeah. I couldn't give less of a shit about a band when they have a name like that. It also pretty much means they're considered for upcoming DLC.
Duck said:At least you can play a real guitar. :/

Keyser Soze said:So, In This City by Iglu & Hartly is curently being played FAR TO MUCH on the radio, but I still think I is a good fit for Rock Band. I am offically adding it to my list of songs that I want

Is it ceasing to register? Causing double-huts?Joates said:Well, Im so glad Harmonix is confident is their shittastic fucking hardware, because having the red pad die on my RB2 drums is doing wonders for my confidence in them.
Rock Band 1 to stay on sale as disc, no songs going online

Personally my gripe is that it's too easy to progress up in venues. I should have to spend more time playing small clubs before progressing. Maybe it's just their continued goal of making everything exceedingly easy, but I often feel railroaded to continue with the next goal and that getting new clubs is laughably easy. I basically just have to play two songs? That's beyond trivial. Some cities should have tough, high fanbase requirements or something. As it is the higher venues open so quickly that they might as well not even be locked to begin with.
birdman said:Well, I'm not surprised in the least. Time to pony up that $5 gents.
TheGreatDave said:Assuming the game remains easy to rent. I don't know what it's like in the US, but I don't imagine Rock Band 1 being all that easy to obtain in the UK in year or so.
birdman said:In the US:
1. Go to Gamestop
2. Buy used copy of Rock Band
3. Pay free to transfer songs
4. Return game for full refund
5. ????
6. Profit!
TheGreatDave said:Return game for a full refund?! Man, you guys have the best and worst of times over there. Your economy may be going to shit, but at least you can exploit the little man!
AMUSIX said:It's not crap, but it's not the omega pedal either. The mechanics are the same as the stock pedal (spring underneath) but it's FAR more solid, and the pressure is correct. The thing can take a stomping. The action is very quick, and it does make grace notes much easier to execute.
It does click when it triggers, though, which is what most people hate. It's not horribly loud, but when compared to the quietness of the rest of the set, it stands out.
The omega pedal is still better, but I'd say that there's not much else that beats this one.
also, you got my post a few pages back about layouts, right? Hopefully it's enough to guide you to an 'accurate' set up....by the way, you'll fucking love the set, have fun with it tomorrow.
Just remember to move the mounting bracket for the brain from the center cross bar over to the left arm.

Gamestop is the "little man"? :lolTheGreatDave said:Return game for a full refund?! Man, you guys have the best and worst of times over there. Your economy may be going to shit, but at least you can exploit the little man!
They should just make the songs available for RB2 owners when RB3 comes out. Then loop it round like that. But obviously as a result we should stop calling it a platform, and this thread should have the word removed, aw!

I broke the Guitar Strum Bar late July, and I was very lax with bugging them. Initially they replied, and I assumed that it was handled. But it was three weeks, and I got nothing back. Then I checked my e-mail and noticed that they haven't done anything, and asked for a new RMA request. Since then, the pedal has also broken.
I've done one last week again, and I've gotten the auto-reply. Should I be concerned? Or should I just do a phone followup right away?
I know it used to work, at one point in time. I'm pretty sure has since been blocked and entropay will no longer work.neorej said:Question about using Entropay on PSN, I heard it's blocked, but several sites still say this is the way to go if you want to buy stuff from the US Store if you're in Europe. Anyone here who can shed a light on this?
I rather like the song. Nice and catchy, get some amusement out of the "dave vitty" version on Radio 1, however with the "name, video, and how they look" thing: true story, in English today I saw the band name on the cover of a GQ a friend had from a few months back (she's writing about music magazines, you see) and picked it up, found the page with them, had a quick glance, saw the picture and closed the mag putting it down.Belgand said:I've never heard it before, but after listening to only half of it I think I hate it more than just about other song I've ever heard. It's just about everything I could possibly hate about a song distilled down into a single piece of aural horror. I even have deep, seething rage over their awful name, video, and how they look.
They might be my most hated thing ever. Even Hitler even had that great mustache and some swanky boots.
While unannounced, MTV Games has confirmed that the upcoming Nintendo Wii version of "Rock Band 2'' will offer the same online functionality i.e. song downloads and Internet multiplayer modes as the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 versions. The PS2 version, however, will not include online connectivity.

So basically Nintendo is announcing a storage solution Wednesday night.Struct09 said:Further confirmation that the Wii version of RB2 won't be gimped as much as RB1 was: http://kotaku.com/5056299/wii-dlc-confirmed-for-rock-band-2

Not true. They could be following GH:WT's route, which was in the New Nintendo Power:Duck said:So basically Nintendo is announcing a storage solution Wednesday night.
Ridley327 said:FWIW, Best Buy's pre-order t-shirts also advertise the Wii's internet functionality, but with two key differences.
1. The Wii version isn't likely to get the 20 additional songs, as it isn't listed as a feature as it is on the 360 and PS3 pre-orders.
2. It also doesn't advertise as having 500 songs by the end of the year. Whether or not this merely has to do with the RB1 disc not being compatible with RB2 or something else, it isn't clear.
Other than that, the same features as the others are listed.
robochimp said:Can you preorder the bundle at Best Buy in store?
McBradders said::lol I just played with works stock drums.
For everyone still playing on stock drums;
Stop.
Get a pedal replacement or plate.
Get some fucking silencers. Those stock drums are ass![]()
Magik said:I just slapped a slab of metal on my pedal and duck taped it together. It's a beast! :lol
robut said:Probably been asked before but has anyone picked up the precision bass? I'm thinking of getting it.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it were wireless. :'(Ridley327 said:I posted my impressions of it earlier in this thread, and I'm happy to report that I've had no change in them since. It really is that awesome. And as a further addendum after playing a bit on the GHWT guitar, it really is the best guitar controller of all now. Buy the P-Bass; buy it now.
