Well, just know what to expect for RB3:

REAL character customization. (Not just choosing faces)
Song-blocking in World Tour mode.
Detailed stats on song finish.
Complete-an-album feature of DLC.
Rythym guitar
Drums redone to show cymbals when needed
Uncensored?

Good luck on the uncensored part.

Oh how I wish...

Rock Band Live! Play for a audience of up to X in real time on XBL. I could tottally see RB quickplay supporting up to 12 online. (4 band members and maybe 8 that can watch)

Maybe Rock Band 3 will add Band Vs. Band, assuming Harmonix doesn't think it's too shitty to allow people to do it.

I expect it to support some sort of user generated content. Based on what Harmonix have said I wouldn't be surprised if their way of doing it is something a little more complicated but more authentic, like a PC application you can put your own real music in and then mix to create RB suitable tracks.

Master Exploder is 1000x more fun when you have the volume cranked.

And that's saying something, considering it's incredible even at low volume.

(On guitar, haven't tried it on anything else)

I dunno, most of GH:2's new stuff doesn't strike me as a huge deal breaker. The only new feature that really mattered to me was the co-op, and even then the way you couldn't play bass/rhythm in single player seriously lowered the usage I got from it personally. Especially when my girlfriend never wants to play any mode but Pro Face Off and it didn't have any online modes on 360. I think BotB and online World Tour are a bigger deal than anything in GH:2, but I guess it comes down to your own needs, wants and DESIRES.

Ah, therein lay the issues stripped bare, ugly, and naked for the whole world to see and laugh at how pathetically small they are and how quickly they likely... erm, this is getting a bit too far now.

Anyhow, my girlfriend doesn't like competitive games so we never play Face-Off. We also don't play any multiplayer games where we compete which works out well because I can't think of any that I own that would interest her for any reason anyhow. It's probably for the best as, well, she just can't compete. I'm much, much better than her and I play far, far more often.

While it sucks that bass has never had a solo career (until now!) I still spent a solid amount of time playing bass in practice mode on full speed for the full song. I never really cared that I didn't get stars or a score and I never did badly enough to have to worry about failing out so it was all pretty moot that I couldn't. It was an annoying kludge, but it worked.

BotB relies heavily on having a dedicated group of people on your friend's list to compare scores to and the desire to be very competitive on your score. Something that doesn't apply much to me. I care much more about playing perfectly and having fun than I do tweaking my score out.

Online BWT requires friends who would play with me. It also was something that was supposed to be in RB1 so I don't entirely count it. You don't get a reward for saying you'll do something, not doing it, and then eventually getting around to it. I know, I've tried this with my girlfriend and it doesn't work. You just get hit quite a lot. In the bollocks usually.

Again, fuck you all and your "everyone plays on 360" bullshittery. I mean this in the kindest of ways, mind you, but still, cram it awkwardly into your rectum in such a way that it becomes infected and swollen with a great sac of blood-streaked pus the size of a softball.

This is exactly what I expect. But will they release only a PC application? I'm starting to doubt that despite the times I've forwarded the idea in the past. There might be a rudimentary in-game composer at least or perhaps they'll just expect you to be happy playing what other people are creating acknowledging that only a small group will be interested in using it effectively.

I used to play bass songs in practice mode too. It pissed me off to still have to do it in GH3.

I'm shit at most games, so maybe that's why BotB appeals to me. Apart from two or three bastards on my friends list I think I have the Mad Skill to do well and feel like an awesome Quake player, just for once.

Im only showing you the Press Release for next year. The only thing I missed was the "Coming Later for PS3, Wii & PS2"

sorry. :|

Fixed like a dog. And true, no offense intended to you, but I don't think they'll do something that linked to a proprietary online service for one console only.

Actually, I still don't understand why we don't have cross-platform leaderboards. I can sort of understand playing together (though it pains me), but I'm pretty sure that text is compatible.

I'm only getting at most 3 songs from that RHCP album. I gave them all a fair listen, but the only ones that I thought were good were Breaking the Girl, Under the Bridge, and Suck My Kiss. There was like 2 others that were almost good, and the rest were pretty forgettable.

Maybe I'll pick up YYZ to make up for the lack of awesome songs.

I'm not sure if people are still having issues but I downloaded the RHCP album about an hour ago with no problems. Fun stuff :D

I have had absolutely no issues (aside from, well, PS3 updating on Thurs.) ignoring the RHCP album today on account of not caring for it. It was actually worked surprisingly well though, in all fairness, I did stall out for a period of time thinking about how much I dislike "Under The Bridge" (and, no, not just because it's popular... I dislike it solely on it's own merits) and couldn't get past it to move on to how much I dislike the rapped vocals and, well, absolutely everything else (including the video) about "Give It Away".

LOL @ people itt that havent listened to blood sugar sex magik before and cry about it not being good as califorinication.................wowwwwwwwwwww

well when I said coming to XBL....it would imply that because it's coming to 360 first. I would never think that a feature would not be in the PS3 version. :P

Funny thing is I love my PS3. I just don't play RB on it. ;)

I don't know if I'm gonna buy the whole RHCP album. I love them and I'll definitely get a few tracks, but I dunno about getting them all. What I do want a few more songs from Californication and most important of all Rollercoaster.

I've listened to it plenty of times and don't think it's as good as Californication

Everytime I boot up Rock Band think to myself, "You know what I'd rather do than play the game? Watch the game play itself." If only there was a jukebox mode...

I missed Jukebox Mode when I was on psychedelics the other weekend. All I wanted to do was put some songs on and watch the band play them. And No-Fail mode vocals isn't the same, it obscures too much of the screen.

Hmm, the registration says that the bonus tracks are coming to the Wii; wonder why they didn't mention that on the Best Buy pre-orders.

Probably because they didn't know. The Wii version has been shrouded in secrecy.

Also, 20 songs will like... fill a 512MB SD card.

Please dont come in here bitching when the website gets hammered and you can't enter your code.

I won't :)

Not too worried, all the people who want to enter their code in right away can do so over the next couple weeks.

Neat, but I'm going to hold off putting my code in until the songs are up.
Yeah, I've been burned a few times with pre-order nonsense before. You pre-order something mad early and never get a code, and then people that pre-order the item the day before release get their codes right away. Good idea.

You're supposed to enter the code within Xbox Live Marketplace. I don't think entering it on their site right now is going to get you anything anyway.

you enter the code of the manual in the website, and then they will email you a code for xbox live marketplace when the songs get released

I loaded that survey with tons of bands/songs I want in the game. Hopefully they'll take this requests more seriously since they're from the people that went out to buy Rock Band 2 as soon as possible. I wish I could have checked a box to let them know I own Frequency and Amplitude, and hopefully they would weigh my picks higher (doubtful I know).

So that further confirms that Wii will have DLC. I have the 360 version, but that's still good to know that they're not screwing over Wii owners other than the release date this time.

So my RMA Guitar and Foot Pedal have arrived. Pedal is great, well, it works.

The Guitar feels more solid, the strum bar feels better, buttons clickier, but the overdrive concerns me. It's very very fickle. Random tilt and odd angles works sometimes, but others not so good. I'm not sure if I should send this back or not.
