I have no problem with the lack of content when there's the export option. I imagine the only reason it is a disc is to get the extra retail sales and presence. I imagine the number of people buying it who don't own RB1/2 is gonna be pretty low.

It's all the ridiculous price for me.

I'll probably rent it. I don't like AC/DC enough to worry myself that I won't be able to keep the songs forever and ever.

I have a question guys. Why is the Pixies album in he store marked as bought for me? I didn't buy it but I can't download it either.

Same thing for the PAX collection btw.

Oh by the way BBG, I don't think I'm going to be playing Shiver with you anytime soon. I'm passing on GH:WT and going RB2. I've already invested all the DLC to not get it and since the majority of time I spend playing this is with friends, they're picking up GH.

Viva La Vida for RB DLC!

NoOooOooOoooooooooOOOO!!!!!!!!!

?oldplay shall live on alone in GHWT! :(

TheGreatDave said:
DUDE, I'll totally play Shiver. Coldplay songs are awesome, because they're some of the few I can get a gold star on in GH.

I keep thinking GHWT won't be released in europe until later like RB. :(

?oldplay lives!

All this talk of Aerosmith makes me want to play. Beyond Beautiful needs to be played again.
My favourite from that game would have to be Ragdoll. Such a fun song to play, I would seriously consider buying it if it were released for GH:WT.

TheGreatDave said:
Activision have only ever made region free GH games on 360.

They're a really nice company.

When I bought my region-free "asian" copy of GH3 from Play-Asia they sent me an Australian copy anyway!

Also, I just played Walk This Way (Run DMC) on the Aerosmith demo and wow. So awesome

The secret fact is that Aerosmith songs are actually really fun to play. I mean, I know they're Aerosmith and all, so they're sort of a joke, but they're probably one of the best bands they could have picked. GH:Aerosmith probably should have been offered as DLC, but as a disc game I think it's well worth the money. Especially as it's probably cheapish now.

Yes omg. Sweet Emotions rocked too. Reminded me how great the Neversoft GH engines/charts are. Fuck the haters, Guitar Hero is a better guitar game.

I didn't like the Aerosmith in Rock Band though!

I've kept telling myself I'm going to go out and rent GH: Aerosmith but never found the time. Perhaps in the next couple weeks while I wait for RB2

Aerosmith gets a low score from me because of that shit awful fretboard that interferes with doing well. So damn distracting.

Yeah totally. I thought that was just my colourblind arse. I had some problems with the GH2/3 ones too

Fake Steven Tyler >>>> Real Steven Tyler

The cover of Train Kept A Rollin is wayy better then the original. :lol

Pretty much. I dunno, if three disc releases in a year, with each disc containing exclusive songs you can't get anywhere else, is OK, I have no idea why stuff like GH:Aerosmith got such a load of shit from people. I'm going to guess it's because people are nothing but apologists for everything Harmonix ever does wrong. Oh, and because having to switch discs and wait 2 minutes max to play a song is just an unbearable sin that can't be tolerated.
The AC/DC thing is a rip-off.
Also, I wouldn't even consider it without an export option. It may as well not exist to me without an export option. The only game that would ever break this and I'd make an exception for is GH: Metallica.

I don't think anyone doubts that they are milking (and will continue to milk) the RB franchise.
But it's also true that Activision has a vast history of milking the crap out of every successful franchise and do it by releasing a ridiculous amount of games for that franchise in a relatively short time period. And their given history exasperates any actions they may take with the Guitar Hero franchise.
I mean, I love the Tony Hawk franchise, but c'mon, they came out with games for that every year. That doesn't mean every one of those games was fricken awesome and amazing (they were), but they came out all the fricken time. It was kinda great for a huge fan like me, but it was still ridiculous.

Disc switching for music games sucks (particularly for group settings). You won't see me buying another Rock Band or Guitar Hero disc that doesn't have an export option (once again, Metallica excepted because I'm too much of a sucker for Metallica).

I agree with this... reading the rockband scorehero forum gives me a headache half the time they spin everything is like watching fox news lol

edit: I also agree that the aerosmith songs were really fun to play.

The difference between TH and GH is that GH really doesn't need a years dev. I don't think it undermines the quality of the games for Harmonix or Neversoft to put out one big update a year and an expansion or two. It's not like putting out 500 DLC songs has compromised the quality of Harmonix's charts. The only thing I care about is value for money. Aerosmith was about the limit when it comes to meeting it's cost.

ya. I agree with you.
And people forget that rock music game is different from other sorts of games. I'm more trying to play devil's advocate and show where other people are coming from.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I didn't see it in the thread. You can now register your code on the back of your RB2 instruction manual and enter your e-mail address. You're only going to get a confirmation e-mail that they have your info and will e-mail you the download code when the 20 songs are available. They also say, "a couple weeks" before they will be released. So mid-late October.

Already mentioned, but doesn't hurt to have it on a new page of the thread.

ugh...damn XBOX Live downtimes...hopefully this won't turn out like Christmas last year. I thought it was only supposed to be down for 24 hours.

personally I think the whole AC/DC wal mart exclusive crap is more of a turn off to the companies than a rip off, as long as it's 30$ and not $40, at 40 it's a rip off as well. I keep seeing both prices, is there a confirmed one yet?

It was, but from the looks of yesterday, something didn't come out as planned.

$40 on 360 and PS3.

So only one export off the CD. What are you supposed to do when your 360 red rings? I was excited about this pack, but for $40 and only one export, no custom animation or costumes... I think I'll pass. I don't want to have to be signed into Live to play these tracks as DLC in case my 360 kicks the bucket.

The license is DLC, unlocked by unique code.

DLC licenses are now transferrable per Microsoft tool.

I love how it's $10 more on nextgen when the only new content (charts + music) will be identical on all discs.

I think Microsoft enforce a $40 price.

I guess you are paying for the transfer license after all.
The only thing I care about is value for money. Aerosmith was about the limit when it comes to meeting it's cost.
Define value on your terms.

My terms are the same as everybodies. I don't think £30 should only result in 18 tracks and less features when RB2 and GHWT have so much more for a price that isn't that much higher.

Shivering Isles KotN expansion disc for Oblivion was $29.99, and I don't see this as any more than an expansion.

Was that playable without the Oblivion disc? Stand alone titles are probably different.

edit: ^^^ i just wasted 30 seconds on a response. >:(

Didn't the Shivering Isles expansion disc require the regular Oblivion game itself? This AC/DC track pack is very likely a standalone game, similar to the track packs for Wii and PS2.

The real question is are we getting mo-capped AC/DC in here? How about achievements/trophies? 1000 points for playing through 18 songs sounds weird to me.

New venues? Any reason for me to not just export and trade in via Goozex for $40 immediately?
