Mark Coles from the BBC interviewed Roger Waters today. This was taken from the interview.!

Listen to the Interview:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/listenagain/ram/today1_floyd_20050910.ram

"What your saying is: would I go back and make a record with those three guys? Well I guess so, yeah. This all things being equal there is no reason why I shouldn’t want to do that. Though I’ve sort of got used to not having to fight my way through a great miasma of opposition. However, having said that, maybe if I came up with an idea and approached them. I don’t know maybe they say yeah ok thats sounds fine to me."And speaking about the offer for a Floyd tour: "Well certainly none of those offers have been accepted. Dave is, has made a solo album I believe. And i have got all kinds of fish to fry. You never say never about anything. You never say never." You can listen to the complete interview here with your own ears

:D Im salivating at the mere prospect of new Floyd material and or Tour.

If David Gilmour and Waters are willing to bury the hatchet and are able to work with one another again... oh my god

edit...

Another little tid bit from UK news paper (Sunday Mail is a shit rag usually but this is interesting news none the less)

Possible new Floyd track to appear on John Peel Tribure album?

I'm getting this tingly feeling inside of me recently... something is telling me the '06 Coachella will bring back Floyd and My Bloody Valentine. *prays*

Please... just let me dream. :(

I would do whatever's necessary to get to see Pink Floyd on tour.

-Kill pregnant women: check
-Eat their fetuses: check
-Vote for Jeb Bush: check
-Give the president a BJ: check
-Watch a family comedy written by and staring Ice Cube: ugh...mmm....da.....check.

Awesome!

By the way, Roger Waters' opera Ça Ira will be released September 27.

Holy crap--he's been working on that for at least ten years. (link)
(Why do I have a sinking feeling it's not going to be all that good? Bad memories of Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio, maybe.)

A Pink Floyd tour would absolutely murder everything that's ever been done in terms of revenue. The fact that a promoter was offering $250 million to these guys to go on tour (that they they turned) down speaks volumes.

This is pretty timely...last night I went to a Classic Albums Live show at the Phoenix in Toronto, a terrific series of shows that have seen them cover the Stones' Sticky Fingers, the Beatles' Abbey Road, U2's Joshua Tree and Rush's 2112 in their entirety (I attend the last two shows). Last night they performed Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, and as usual it was just a stellar performance. They also performed some other tracks (as they usually do), including Sheep, One of These Days, and of course Comfortably Numb. They're gonna cover the Wish You Were Here album in a couple weeks, and it should be another fantastic show.

Oh yeah, I bought a handful of Floyd albums about a month ago based on the recommendations on this board, with most of 'em being sold at special prices. So far this is my order of preference...

Animals
Wish You Were Here
Echos (not sure if that counts, but whatever)
The Wall
Dark Side of the Moon
UMMAGUMMA (just a bizarre album, but I liked the live stuff)

Echos is interesting in showing how ridiculously different the Sid and post-Sid stuff appears to be. I can't say I've ever been into that psychadelic sound, but if there were other styles they performed during that era I'd be interested in knowing.

One more Floyd related note...the Live 8 DVD is due out November 7th as a four disc set, with almost all the London and Philly sets being shown in their entirety (some of the acts got their sets reduced), and a behind the scenes look at the Floyd rehersals. Here's the full track list.

Pink Floyd rehearsal

I dunno...as a fellow floydian I don't have too much faith in Waters' or Gilmour's current songwriting abilities. :P I'd be more interested in a world tour...

A new Pink Floyd album would be pretty damn interesting though.
