Ron Gilbert (Monkey Island) working on a new title?

That's what his blog seems to say !

"Clayton and I were supposed to jet off to Paris this week to meet with a publisher, but had to cancel because I got sick. The trip has been postponed until next month. I was looking forward to some wine and stinky cheese. I love stinky cheese."

If this game has 1% of Monkey Island's fun, then it's a must buy, whatever it could be.

Indeed - Ron Gilbert is one of the few developers whose product I would purchase without waiting for reviews. I wonder what he's working on?

There was an Edge interview within the last month or so with Gilbert where he touched on his game a couple times. He said its gonna be really a traditional storytelling-type experience, if my memory serves (too lazy to dig it up).

Theres a small interview with him in the UK magazine PC Zone this month. Apparantly he'd be delighted to do another Monkey Island game is Lucas Arts asked.

Please make this happen someone.

What about Atari? Are they based in Paris?

Lyon. But that's Infogrames. Atari HQ is in New York these days. But they only have enough cashflow to operate for another quarter so not sure how acquisitive they are right now.

Uh, the kids games were his idea / decision. They were actually really fun for what they were aimed at.

He did also start Cavedog and produced Total Annilation. and then did more kids stuff :P

And the Clayton he is referring to was the art lead on Total Annihilation and later led up Beep Industries on Voodoo Vince.
