RTTP IT Crowd- Soooo Good

kittoo

Cretinously credulous
I am in season 3 right now. Didn't like season 1 all that much but season 2 is a classic! My favorite episodes till now are the one where they all go to a gay Opera and pretend to be handicapped etc., And the one where their boss dies and his son appears (Father!!!!), Who himself is such a great character.

ResurrectedContrarian

Suffers with mild autism
- the episode where he falls in with the real men, the football fans, who just happen to be criminals
- the internet inside a single box, presented to cheering idiot shareholders by Jen

Loved that show 😊
I liked the one episode where moss joins the underground countdown club.. just so silly 🤣

My favourites are "The Work Outing", "Italian For Beginners" and "Moss And The German". It's a great show and it's too bad there's no more seasons. I remember being shocked and going "Is that it?" once I hit the final episode on Netflix.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
"The Final Countdown" is probably my favorite and most re-watched episode in the series.

Moss winning Countdown and joining an elite club of nerds while Roy looks on and laughs is the funniest thing ever to me.

Gay musical may be one the greatest episodes of anything, though.
“I’m disabled “

Some of the outside building shots and indeed some of the interiors of the offices were filmed where I used to work many years ago in Stephen street in London.

The bomb disposal robot one takes place there quite a lot too.

I love this show. I must admit that it had to grow on me.

No shit!? That’s awesome.

Yeah, it's definitely between "The Work Outing" and "The Speech" for my favorite episode. Between the two, I think it has to be The Speech. From premise to execution, that episode is pretty much perfect.

For those who never watched this show, it's on Netflix. You should definitely try it.

I love the show. Rewatched it a few times actually. Gave us one of the greater "im out" gifs.

Damn amazing show. Too bad both Richard Ayoade and Chris O'dowd didn't really go anywhere afterward. Not mention Katherine Parkinson.

I still think my favorite is the one where Roy has to end his relationship with his hot girlfriend because he's too obsessed with the impracticality of her parents dying in a fire at Sea World.

IT Crowd is eternally great.

Quick shout out to the creator Graham Lineham, who's tirelessly fighting for Women's rights and Children's safety in the UK.

Everyone should follow + support him.

Can't speak to Katherine Parkinson, but Chris O'dowd has been in a lot of stuff (including the infamous Thor 2: The Dark World) but mostly known these days for Get Shorty.

Richard Ayoade has been huge since - in fact I'd venture to say that his fame is the reason this show didn't continue on. He was in The Watch with Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill. His Travel Man series is required viewing at my house. Most recently he was in The Mandolorian which was glorious.

Am I the only one who finds it a bit hamfisted? Like not bad, but not great either. Too corny and about as subtle as a turkey slap.

I like the show but I can get that. Like you said, it's not exactly subtle. Have you seen Graham Linehan's other shows, Father Ted and Black Books? If so what did you think of those? I feel like they are quite similar in tone so probably wouldn't be your thing but I'm just curious.

I like it, but I think Father Ted is better. Also, check out Toast of London if you haven't seen that, which was created by Arthur Matthews (who co-wrote The IT Crowd and Father Ted) and Matt Berry (who plays the lead role).

They made an American pilot for the first episode. Changing out Roy made it so fail so hard it isn't funny.

That laugh track tho.
The office part of the show was recorded in front of the live audience, there are blooper reels to prove that. They probably used the laugh track only for scenes shot outside and in other places (correct me if I'm wrong pls).

They play the scenes shot on location to the audience on TVs during the filming and record the reaction. That's how it was done in the filming of shows I've been to.
