  • What is the S.Link FM Podcast?

S.Link FM is a podcast dedicated to all things related to the critically acclaimed and cult followed Persona series. Created by members of the Persona Community from NeoGAF, we intend to go over many topics surrounding the series in each episode. In addition to this, we'll be inviting PersonaGAF members to talk with us, especially about subjects we feel need to be represented.

Description: In the very first episode of S.Link FM, we decide to start things off a little casually and go over how each of us got into the Persona series. We decided to do this podcast on a whim last night so I apologize if the first episode seems disorganized. Nonetheless, we manage to talk about how great Persona 2 is, how we got into the series, Persona 4 Arena at EVO2013, Persona 5 speculation, and jello's utilikilt.

Description: The S.Link FM podcast returns to speculate upon hopes, dreams, and what little "info" we have about Persona 5. Our guest Inorigo (@Talespun, writer for GameRanx and RPGSite) chimes in with some great points for your consideration. Description:On Episode 4 of S.Link FM, we discuss the various anime adaptions of the Persona franchise. Firstly our panel gives a brief history of our experience with the Anime medium, where we’re pretty all over the place. CJKeats being the Anime connoisseur of the group, and the only one brave enough to watch Persona Trinity Soul. From there we tackle Persona 4: The Animation, and the upcoming Persona 3 movies. Description: Episode 6 is finally here! This one is all about Persona 4: Arena, the competitive scene surrounding it and fighting games at large. Our panel consists of Levito and Armada, with GAF's own fighting game enthusiast MotheHawk and pro fighting game player, Dacidbro. We talk all about the FGC, overcoming competitive gaming anxiety, the differences between the various fighting game genres. It’s true, immensely talented voice actress Erin Fitzgerald was here to school us with her vast assortment of knowledge. We talked about linguistics, the voice over industry, and most importantly steak. So enjoy this one, we had an absolute blast recording it.

^ Yeah, this should be pretty good considering that there is a lot to discuss and who knows what could be right around the corner.

I just listened to it and I'm wondering what jello was doing making so much noise at the beginning. A model? Folding envelops? :D

That was pretty good and helped me kill some time earlier today.

I think once you guys figure out a certain structure then the conversations will flow much better. Some of you need to speak up a bit more too :p

Perhaps you guys can decide on a certain theme for each week too. Like, for example, one week you decide to focus one of the games, next week you discuss on the backstory/lore of the games, another week talk about some controversial/interesting things about the series, etc. Then give everyone a heads up beforehand so that anyone reading this thread who wants to chime in on a certain theme has the chance to join in for that specific episode.

That's the idea we have. Got a few ideas cooking up myself personally, and we already have an idea for the next topic and a guest!

Crazy seeing a thread for this, but the idea is pretty awesome, and some of the later episodes may be coming on the heel of some Persona 5 news.

Honestly, we're just sort of letting it grow from our motivations. Naturally, there is so much content and discussions to cover and tons of guests that we want in, so we could definitely do it weekly based on material alone.

Personally, I'd love for it to be a weekly thing and think that is very possible with Levit0's leadership and the commitment of the other guys.

I pretty sure we didn't go into it much other than it being my introduction to the series.

We spoil the hell out of P4, but not P3 though.

Weekly would be really tough for a podcast this particular, bi weekly even would be tough. We'll see how it goes.

Just finished listening to this, really good stuff. I actually really love the length, too. I'm familiar with a lot of really long runtimes and they usually wind up losing me after a while, but relative to those, it's pretty brisk and despite the laid-back tone, it's not too rambly.

Definitely in for the next episode.

The next episode is set to record this Friday with guest Inorigo (@Talespun), writer for GameRanx and Persona enthusiast. The topic will be Persona 5 - for this episode, it's very important that we get some feedback from PersonaGAF, so I'll be going over discussions in other threads to gather info.

I'd be interested to see how this develops as you get a more cohesive format, because a dedicated Persona podcast can generate some interesting discussion. Are you going to try and theme each episode, or you just sticking to a more free-form format? I certainly like the more loose presentation of the likes of the GiantBombcast, but then you run the risk of it sort of just...meandering, which I felt is how this played out.

Still, kudos to you for putting something together.

Side note: Are you keeping the same hosts? Because I never really got a feel for everyone, barring cjkeats (radio voice!). Hopefully we get a better impression of the personalities, as you all become more comfortable, which will probably reflect in the structure too.

Use a more uplifting theme!

This doesn't surprise me.:p

The first episode was just a test run, more than likely keeping the same hosts of the most part, having quests every so often, depending on availability.
