Sacred 2 Remastered Announcent Trailer

Super hyped for this one. Sacred 2 with all of the expansions is such a fun game, but the expansions were only available on PC, and the PC version ran like ass with a nagging memory leak that was never fixed.

Also it had one of the greatest quest lines in a video game ever, with Blind Guardian doing an in-game concert:

Not a game I expected to get a remaster.

A crime that the first ain't getting a remaster, it's a gem and way better

Went to check and as it turns out, I already own Sacred 2 on Steam but have never played it. :goog_relieved:

Wouldn't mind checking it out, I remember playing and enjoying the first game, even if my brainrot forced me to clear all the fog of war which turned the game into a slog lmao.

I remember one of the abilities you could get would essentially spawn/summon a giant that would wonder the map.

I loved my time playing this so much.
Unfortunately I don't have contact with team I played it with, but I still think about the Blind Guardian concert after the quest at least once a month, if not more.

I doubt the lads I currently play with would be interested.

That's uh... random. I always kinda wanted to play the second game - I liked what I played of the demo. The first one was mindless, but pretty fun. I remember when the first game initially came out in the US, they censored all of the blood and I was pretty annoyed about that. Good times.

Anyway, I'm willing to give this a shot.

I liked the first game, but my memories of it are very hazy. Definitely not as excited as when Titan Quest was coming back (first remaster of 1 and now 2).

A game from a time when PC was in a weird transitional period. I'm good but cool to see I guess.
What do you mean? PC Still had AAA exclusives. Which seemed to die up outside of strategy games when box copies stopped and Microsoft stole a bunch of devs.

Everything went multiplatform, no more crisis, no more AAA games made using advanced pc tech.

I miss those days, when Stalker , Crysis, Sacred2, titan quest , Bloodlines, half-life2, doom3, farcry, Fear were all done on pc first or came out.

The late aughts was when most PC devs had moved on to focus on consoles (BioWare, Monolith, Epic, etc). id was a shadow of it's former self, CDPR was still a C-tier eurojank dev. There will still good games but it wasn't until 2011/2012 when most console games weren't skipping PC and those ports weren't ass 90% of the time.

This is a day 1 buy for me. I loved both Sacred 1 and 2.

IT better be on switch 1/2... I can already play sacred 2 on my ps3 and xbox x, and pc, and I own the pc game on gog, not steam and I am done trying to get gog games working on steam deck. The hero launcher thing no longer works for larger games. Last game I got working was Homm3 complete and I am not touching it, as I don;'t want to go through that nightmare again.

Sacred 2 on pc doesn't have controller support so controls would be shit, which this remaster will remedy.
It better be coming to switch though...

I recall i don't like this game because of the animation and model ( even at the time ) was clunky...
well, seems still clunky in my opinion : /

This was mediocre and forgettable even back then. The only thing that made it stand out, even a little, was the large open world for an arpg which we already have enough of today. I just see little reason to play this in a sea of good arpgs, I'd rather they remastered the first sacred instead.

Obligatory THIS WORLD IS SAAAAACREDDD

I love that game so much, I've RECENTLY bought a brand new copy for the xbox 360. Yes, nothing less. Just for the sake or getting that nostalgia fix. To me, it was a massive release back then.

I wonder if this will be in the remaster as well...

I played that. My memory is that it contained a lot of MMO-level fetch quests and completely forgettable characters and story. I've never really liked the isometric perspective, so I think that was another issue I had with the game. However, I did play it for many hours, so there must have been something compelling about the gameplay (at least for me, at that time).

I hope so too but copyright might have expired? Otherwise the trailer should have included the song?! We'll see :messenger_beaming:

I just wish there would be a Switch 2 release..

I would be surprised if the band would have anything against its inclusion, and I doubt they'd change all that much for a license either.

but who knows how low the budget for this is 🤷

Yeah I thought it was an interesting blend of Diablo and MMO gameplay. Plus the co-op was stellar and the world was absolutely massive. It had quirky dialogue and characters like a Larian game as well.

It wasn't a great game, nothing in particular stood out about it. But it was a lot of fun, especially if you could play it with friends.
