I really dug it. Its got an early 90's vibe to it, both in its gameplay and its aesthetics. Back when games were allowed to be patently ridicioulous and nobody would notice, since, after all, it was par for the course for there to be
in the old west.
The gameplay is repetitive as heck, but like any good beat-em-up, which this is, the core action is enough to sustain it over the course of the game. Things get varied JUST enough to make things interesting. As there are many, many options for customizing your character's appearence, equipment, attributes, and fighting styles to try out, you can experiment till the cows come home. None of it makes a drastic diffrence to the way the game plays, but its still fun to play dress up with your character and "tune" him into a whirlwind of blade and blood.
The writing strikes a deliberately cheesy tone, but its not bad, and the voice acting (I <3 Kris Zimmerman) is actually pretty decent, the graphics ain't so hot, but at least it keeps a steady framerate for the most part. There's lots of extras and replay value too. Its worth it at $30, at ten its a no-brainer. Heck, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more then I did Killzone, but I'm funny like that.
