Satisfactory coming to Xbox/PS Nov 4th

Satisfactory gets a new trailer and a console release date announcement. Watch the latest Satisfactory trailer for this first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Play alone or with friends, explore an alien planet, create multi-story factories, and enter conveyor belt heaven.

Satisfactory will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 (PS5) on November 4, 2025. Satisfactory is also already available on PC.

Cross-play is supported across all consoles and PC, and up to four players can work together via co-op.

The console versions of Satisfactory will launch with everything in the PC version up to the 1.1 update that debuted in June. For example, the toilets will be flushable from the very beginning. The Xbox version supports game suspend, while on PlayStation, there is support for the integrated controller speaker support and haptics. There will also be performance presets, including Quality mode target at 30fps, Balanced at 40fps, and Performance at 60fps. Additionally, players can utilize cloud saves to take their assembled factories across consoles or PC, depending on which platform they choose to use.
 
Aw man, I hope this comes out on Switch 2. This would be a perfect portable game.

I wonder if the CPU intensive nature of the late game would be a problem for Switch 2. :pie_thinking:

I've checked out a few idle games that crunch large numbers on mobile devices just to get familiar with them. Dear god, they can drain battery capacity more than any other type of app I've seen before.

I imagine if it can run on the Steam Deck, a proper Switch 2 port should be fine. Though I'd expect it to chug a bit in late-game.
 
It's a pretty fun game, I love factory/automation games. I easily sunk 200+ hours into it before the big 1.0 update and have been meaning to go back and start a fresh run with all the improvements. Since the whole game is from a first-person perspective, I see no reason why it would play bad with a controller.

The 3D nature and perspective of it is both an advantage and a hindrance. It's really awesome to build out big factories, especially with different elevations, and then accent them with nice looking walkways and stairs. Walking around your well-oiled machines is really a sight to behold. Yet at the same time it also makes building a tad frustrating and slow depending on how much of a perfectionist you are. The game tries to assist you with some tools to get better overhead views of everything, but it's still a struggle. I think that's why I ultimately enjoy Factorio more, only because I feel like I spend more of my time actually solving logistic puzzles vs wrestling with the interface.

Still, there is a lot of good to say about Satisfactory and I encourage people to check it out.

EDIT: and if it's feasible, toss my hat into the port begging for Switch 2. I would absolutely rebuy it and play the snot out of it in portable form

It's a good game to be certain, but it lives in the shadow of Factorio for me.

The depth just isn't there. Factorio is probably too complex for most though, so I understand the appeal of this being a lite experience of the genre

You should try Captain of Industry....is not Factorio, but is up there...
As for Satisfactory i have ~300h in it and never beat it... Is my comfort game.
 
Controller friendly?
I think I'd say I actually prefer it on controller for almost everything except text entry. But there were issues around nudging on controller which might be a problem for architects. Hopefully fixed on console, I gave feedback around that on the QA site.

The control scheme is excellent and mostly intuitive, where its not its learnable. Using a controller with a proxy (avatar) in game always feels more immersive to me. Bit different if you interact with the game in overhead god mode.

Satisfactory on console is pretty much my most hyped game of the year. Trying to keep it somewhat in check until I see performance info though. The CPU could be an achilles heel.
