A staple of my youth, pretty ambivalent about their (Chris', really) new material.

Caught the acoustic tour last fall when they passed through. That was a good time.

They first caught my attention I think when MTV made some short little 'battle of the emo bands' thing about how Weezer's 'Gone Fishin' video and Saves the Day's 'Freakish' video both came out about the same time and they both had puppets. Been a fan since!

Same here. I first start listening to them when I was back in high school around 01 or 02. Chris's vocals changed even more then they did from "through being cool" to "stay what you are" with the last two albums, but I still consider them just as good.

STD (LOLOL) are one of those bands from my younger days that I still love, even if they don't really resemble anything that I listen to now. As far as their albums go, though, In Reverie is still the high point. It doesn't resonate emotionally like the others, but the songwriting is sublime.

Saves the Day is very good.

So you might be interested in Two Tongues, which has the singers from Saves the Day and Say Anything (one of my favorite bands) doing vocals, as well as Say Anything's drummer and Saves the Day's guitarist I believe.

Thanks for the link I have been interested in that project. My girlfriend is a huge Say Anything fan, But Max Bemis tends to get on my nerves for some reason.
