scary Lumines commercial

Heh. The Rez commercial was strange too. Well not strange but it seemed too homo. Two asian dudes shirtless holding a controller together, and they're both vibrating/shocking and sweating. Haha..oh boy

Oh man, I gotta check this out. It's been a while btw, since I saw the Rez one.. Can anyone give me a link to the Rez CM? I want it again, badly :D

PS: Not because it's somewhat homo-erotic :p

Wow. The Ridge Racers commercial has what appears to be a woman after sexual intercourse, this one appears to have a womanoid about ready to perform oral sex. PSP really does=sex.

Right... ;)

Click here, hit End on your keyboard, and it's right near the bottom under the "OLDER" section.

I like the other Rez commercial, the one where the guy is in the bathroom stall and he's hitting the wall to the beats from stage 4 (Rock is Sponge)

i picked up a cool PSP shaped Lumines flyer last night.

confirms the 2004.12.12 launch date.
3800 yen (CHEAP!)
Sound and light action puzzle
1 player, 2 players in adhoc mode.
"above" 96kb save file

featured music :

Shinin - Mondo Grosso
Shake ya body - Mondo Grosso
I hear the music in my soul - Eri Nobuchika
Lights - Eri Nobuchika.

Looks like Shinichi Osawa is the music man given Mondo Grosso is his solo project and he produced and wrote both Eri songs.

Seems like there is a vs CPU puzzle battle mode too.

Looks as sexy as ever. KILLER APP.

ROXXOR.

That freaking commercial made me jump out of my seat. My speaker volume was pretty high, and I had minimized the window while it was loading, and suddenly this guy starts screaming, and it scared the shit out of me. :lol That commercial was extremely freaky. What point were they trying to get across with that commercial exactly?

It's good to play together...

:lol

The commercial is freaky but Lumines is awesome. The aesthetics of the game perfecly match the PSP. It just feels right. I still don't know how the music part of the game is gonna figure into all of this though, since as of now gameplay seems to be like your ordinary block puzzler.

Wait a minute... I almost exclusively play my GBA / DS w/ the sounds off... Does this game require you to listen to the game?!

Well...uh...the PSP actually utilizes a great audio system so part of the fun IS listening to the music. But I don't think the game REQUIRES you to listen to the music in order to progress. I'd bet that it takes out much of what elevates the title to the next level, but hey... it's probably functional.

The thing about Lumines is that you set blocks with a few colors on other blocks and clear them and create combos and such. Scan lines go over the field and as you clear and create combos the scan lines go over and create dynamic techno music depending on how you play.

It's just that I predominantly play by DS/GBA on the subway while listening to my MP3 player. It's tough for any game's music to compete w/ that. Maybe this will be the exception though...

DS is already making me wear headphones for quite a few of its games, PSP will make me wear headphones for sure, though. I might even crack open my still virgin Rez vibrating headphones for Lumines :D

That's understandable, but for Lumines in particular... it'd almost be like playing Taiko Drum Master while listening to some random mp3. It's a game based around its awesome techno soundtrack, so I think it'd be good to at least be prepared to listen to that game...

god the sec i will be able to buy the psp import, i will get it just for this game.

rez is one of my all time personal fav games.

I'm guessing the Trance Vibrator is what they were trying to promote. Yeah, that Trance Vibrator.

I think the Rock Is Sponge toilet commercial which was mentioned is on Sonic Team's website, in one of the Rez Live videos. I have it on my HDD as "ps2jap_rez_mix.mpeg", and it's 14.9MB, so I'm assuming it's probably "Rez Live and More...", which is the same size.

Vibrating headphones? I didn't know there were vibrating headphones for Rez. I just searched Google and he only returned on result about it (edit2: Well, a bunch of more if I'm less specific, but then it's like searching for a needle in a haystack). And you get eye drops with it?! Jesus, I've been living under a rock. [/de-rail]
