Creative Assembly's secret Alien game will be called Alien: Isolation and revolve around Amanda Ripley, daughter of the Ellen Ripley character made famous by actress Sigourney Weaver, an anonymous source-based report has revealed.

Isolation will apparently be a first-person shooter that combines stealth and horror to achieve something akin to Dishonored and BioShock, Kotaku learned.

Isolation is apparently on course for a current and next-gen console release (and presumably also PC) at some point next year.

Isolation will attempt to sweeten the bad taste left by Sega and Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines game earlier this year. Already Isolation has apparently been delayed to ensure the quality is up to scratch, missing a planned E3 2013 summer reveal.

Kotaku's information was unearthed earlier in the year, so it's a few months old. It was sat on until the details could be corroborated. Twentieth Century Fox's recent trademarking of the name Alien: Isolation provided Kotaku the nudge it needed to spill the beans.

57 years, but yeah. Personally, I think the idea of playing Ripley's daughter is awful and they should stop messing with the established canon and create new characters.

There's only one alien for "most" of the game, our source said; you'll mostly be shooting through "clones and soldiers."

So there's less Aliens and more enemy soldiers than we had in ACM. Just what everyone wanted.

Imo it's a stupid choice, if you want fans to care then use Ellen Ripley, who the hell cares about her daughter? At this point they could have used a new character.

why not just do a game of the orginal movie, being stalked on the nostromo sounds brilliant, just make it like the old speccy version but wit next gen visuals
