Sekiro: No Defeat Anime Announced

Mega hype, even if the art and animation look kinda low budget.

kenjiro tsuda back as Genichiro is awesome.

Camera work and animation style do have some merit and quality to it but I'm not exactly sold on the motion.

Looks better visually than something like the Shenmue anime.

Just saw "Sekiro" and "Confirmed".

Looks like something from Studio Saru or Masaaki Yuasa before they went mainstream and he bounced if I'm honest. I rewatched the trailer multiple times and the latter half shows some promise.

That animation looks rough as hell there are so many good studios and smaller groups that could have really done it justice. I'll still watch it and hopefully I'm surprised.

To be honest I had hoped it would be a prequel or something. I know the Sekiro name doesn't really let you make it about, say, Owl, but an adaptation isn't really doing it for me.

Anything that could be put together from in game footage made with a freecam mod and have comparable results probably isn't worth doing in my eyes.

I'm just not convinced.

Let's hope Sekiro isnt made with 60% AI.

Why couldn't they just take a well established, good studio like Wit, Bones, MAPPA, Madhouse. I'm guessing the good ones are either too expensive or too busy with 5+ animes in the making each. :P

Hoping for the best.

Thread title raised my blood pressure. I had to read it like 6 times to be let down. For just a moment, I thought a new Sekiro game was announced. It was a good moment guys, damn good. Hope the anime is good or whatever I guess... I'll go find some rocks to kick.

I think BONES should been the one made anime for it.

Sword of Stranger was amazing.

It's Qzil.la, but most of the staff are outsourced mid-tier animators.
Anime studios work quite differently from game studios, they often rely heavily on outsourced animators if the budget allows.

SoS was incredible, with legendary animator Yutaka Nakamura absolutely crushing it, especially in the final fight.

Fuck man, I feel that. Heart rate went through the roof for a second there. Will watch repeatedly in the background if it could possibly lead to a Sekiro 2

This fight here what I felt when I was fighting the final boss Sword Saint in Sekiro….Sekiro one very few game managed capture this in gaming form.

While the animation may not be the best, I am still excited to watch this. I can't believe they're making a Sekiro anime and an Elden Ring movie. Please don't fuck them up.

Honestly, even though I've played almost all FromSoftware games, none of them made me feel like I was in a real-life fight quite like Sekiro! You actually have the abilities and tools, but you have to master your timing and attacks. Just like in a real duel. This game really sets the bar for action combat.

Interestingly, The Owl meeting Wolf really gives off Hiko Seijuro-Kenshin vibes.

I really loved Kenshin vs Sito 1996 fight scene, it is actually one of my favorites, right alongside Hiko Seijuro's Epic entrance.

I hope they at least keep this scene good in the upcoming season
