OK, so basically, my desktop PC has started acting strange.

Take a look...

This kind of corruption is present even outside of Windows (black squares are all over, for example).

Any ideas as to what is happening? My video card is a 9700 Pro. Could is be screwed?

I noticed that one of my fans was making a strange noise this morning. I think I better open it up and find out just what is causing that. The temps are fine on CPU and mobo...but perhaps the vid card fan is giving out?

Hmm, I have the machine on the floor with the side off and all fans are now just fine. The corruption is gone as well...

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Yeah, more likely than not, your video card is overheating big time. I'd say it's time to look into a third-party cooling replacement or some other method of cooling that sucker off. Better still, this is a great excuse to upgrade!

This actually happened to me too, once!

I don't exactly know how I uh, fixed it either.

I have a 9700 Pro as well.
