Several questions about the Resident Evil series...

I have several questions about RE

1- Call me late to the party, but I just saw some early gameplay movies of RE4 where the camera angles are similar to previous REs and where Leon holds a flashlight. WOW! What happened to that "game"? Any interviews as of why it was trashed?

2- This is actually a funny question: How many versions of Resident Evil 4 will be made? DS? PSP? X360? :lol What Capcom game got the most ports? My best answer would be either Resident Evil 1 or SFA3.

3- Was RE1.5 once playable like Thrill Kill came to be?

It was cancelled in favor of the released version because Mikami thought it played horribly.

The Capcom game to have gotten the most ports is, I think, RE2. PSone, DC, N64, GC, PC. And soon to be DS. As for RE4, I'm gambling on a future 360 version and a GC re-release in the next three years or so.

3- Was RE1.5 once playable like Thrill Kill came to be?

Only for the creators.

Eh? Have I missed an announcement or is this your wishful thinking? Either way heres hoping Deadly Silence sells good so we get RE2.

No doubt I'd buy both but I so want RE4 in 720p :(

I played it. ;)

Bastard!

RE2 is coming out for the DS too?

It was changed midway by Mikami because he thought it was too much of the same ole' thing. So, he ripped out all traces of horror from the franchise and made it into a semi-moody action game. As far as gameplay goes RE4 is tops but there's something wrong when a minute long video for the old game actually makes me jump once as opposed to all of RE4 where I didn't even break a sweat. Hopefully RE5 will have a better balance.

I doubt we'll see any more aside from maybe a port to X360. I doubt Capcom would make it for a Sony console again considering that PS2 RE4 will likely be replayable on PS3.

As for which Capcom game has the most ports, Super Turbo would be my guess. That game has been on nearly all platforms if you count the SF ACollection.

Not to the public. And thank god it never was because it was taking RE the way of one of George Romero's yawn fest zombie movies. I don't want long drawn out scenes about society's foibles and people spinning shopping carts inside malls all to the tune of elevator music.
