Shadows: Awakening

Game is on sale for $9.99 (of course it is when I don't have the money to get it) and I've noticed it for awhile.

It looks like a Diablo clone but I've heard other people say it's more like a traditional RPG. I like the story from what I've read about it and I think the concept is interesting, as you play a demon that consumes souls who can be used. That and switching between the Spirit Realm and Material Plane reminds me of Soul Reaver, of which I'm a big fan of.

What is the verdict on this? I figure if I can get this before the sale expires, I might dive but I've heard very little about this game.

I've honestly never heard of this, but I was looking for a Diablo-type game recently and was gonna pick up Grim Dawn next time it's on sale.

Grim Dawn is cool. It's like old school Diablo.

I don't know if Shadows: Awakening is lije Diablo. It certainly looks like it fron videos I've seen but others claim it's very single player focused (good!) and more in line with something like Baldurs Gate.

yeah, and thanks to checking this out on GOG I saw that Grim Dawn is on sale too

so I'm downloading both of them now

Awakening sounds like it has an interesting character management system, multiple characters you can swap between two realms

Yeah you consume the souls of heroes which can switched on the fly. Basically you're carrying an entire party inside your being. Really cool concept. I'm hoping I can snag this before the sale is over because it's right up my alley.
