Fond memories of Shaq.

The Shaq & Penny days were pretty magical while they lasted.

And then Shaq simply shitting on everybody for that three-year stretch with the Lakers around the turn of the century. Dominant as fuck.

2nd most dominant player I've seen in my lifetime. When he was at his best he was flat out unstoppable. That being said, I'm glad he's retiring. Watching him this year was depressing.

OP is missing Officer Shaq's stats as well

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Shaquille O'Neal provided an assist to police over the weekend, trailing a man who allegedly assaulted a gay couple before alerting an arresting officer.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- A second man has been arrested in connection to an alleged assault that was witnessed and called in by Miami Heat star Shaquille O'Neal.

It was a slam dunk for "Shaq." Shaquille O'Neal, the Miami Heat's All-Star center and a reserve officer with the Miami Beach Police Department, helped collar a hit-and-run driver early Sunday

Remember when Shaquille O’Neal announced he wanted to be a U.S. marshal? Turns out he was serious. The 7 foot giant has reportedly helped make 30 busts against child pornography offenders, saying:

“I do not have to run after the people or tackle them. They always surrender peacefully,” Shaq recently told Webster Hall’s Baird Jones. “And I’m never afraid. When I arrive, they are really already under arrest.” Shaq says he’s not in it for the glory. “I am not a hero . . . My father was my hero growing up. He was an Army drill sergeant and an FBI agent.”

Noooooo.

Now the NBA is completely void of humor.
I dunno, the way the refs call games are pretty hilarious. Anyways, Shaq needs to go to TNT and stay the hell away from ESPN.

The most fearsome center on Earth in his prime, no contest. He was faster than you, more athletic than you, bigger than you, and stronger than you. I hated him.

I loved him.

Kings fans' worst nightmare.

Man, I miss those days. Chris Webber being awesome, Peja still meaningful, etc

Man I remember when Shaq's rookie card was one of my most prized possessions as a kid (I lived in Orlando when he started). Realizing it's been 19 years since then makes me feel old :[

:lol

Watching Barkley just bean Shaq in the head with the ball instantly after Shaq shoved him is killing me. Classic Barkley just didn't give a FUCK!

I'd make a really tasteless joke about this, but I'll refrain.

Beiber, really, Shaq?

Kinda wish he'd do one more season even with the injuries to round out at 20 (</OCD>) but if he can't go on, it's good for him to end it. But damn, I feel old. 19 years now? :( I think I'm going to play some NBA Jam tonight with the Orlando Magic for him.

I remember when they brought back the zone defense, my dad SWORE it was because the league wanted to find a way to stop Shaq....:)

Hey, it's Weevil!

He got sick during the third season of Veronica Mars though which messed with his appearance a bit...

Surprised Shaq lasted this long. Sucks though, that we will most likely see more of him on reality TV and other crap which is cringe worthy. Don't think he will be a good "sports analyst" like say Barkley so doubt we will see him on ESPN.

These don't belong in the same sentence together!

Boston Celtics really looks silly for trading away Kendrick Perkins
Why? He is just as fat and slow as Shaq, has zero offense, a bad knee and played like shit for OKC in the playoffs, and on top of all that he was a free agent they weren't gonna resign anyway.

All of the people I loved growing up watching the NBA are going to be gone soon.

The 80s and early 90s greats - Ewing, Robinson, Olajuwon, Drexler, Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Miller, Stockton, Malone, Payton, Kemp, Wilkins, both Hardaways, and others - are gone.

The late 90s greats are going now, too - O'Neal, Webber, Iverson, and more. Soon Grant Hill, Tim Duncan and KG will be too old.

This realization makes me sad. :(

I'm bandwagoning on Black Griffin and Kevin Durant to cope.
