What is up with this creepy ad that keeps popping up on mobile GAF? I keep reporting it but it still shows up. I am too embarrassed to even post what it looks like because it is disturbing. It is a couple of barely dressed Asian anime girls and you are like touching them or something wtf. The quote in the title is exact verbiage from the ad.

The screwed up thing about ads is if you go to a word-press blog or something of that nature where smut ads might get pushed because the owners of those sites don't give a damn who sponsors them, just one of those pop-ups are enough to introduce that trash into your some ad identifier that'll follow you around. Its how ads are slowly destroying the internet experience.

My gross-ads solution is to browse GAF primarily on Dark Theme in iOS Safari. Ads only render like one day in ten over there!

NeoGAF has the shittiest tech and user experience of any website I regularly visit.

I have ad tracking disabled and I don't use my phone browser for porn, but every now and then an ad like that cycles through...

So it isn't based solely on your browser history, but it could be, lol. Sometimes they just target a demographic... Like are you a male between 18 and 35? Congrats, you get pervy ads.

Do people still not understand how ads work? Targeted ads aren't solely based on specific things you've browsed for. They create a profile of you and your demographic and serve ads that would be most interesting/relevant. So even if YOU don't specifically search these things, people similar to you might be

Because I barely get ads anymore (using Chrome) and I don't block ads on NeoGAf.
