I just got back from the NWS during my lunch break.
Bad news for me. I won't be able to meet Miyamoto afterall.
They are expecting 2500-5000 people to show up, and people will start lining up before store closing on Saturday, and just camp out overnight. Nintendo World Store employees and Rockefeller Center security are coordinating to set up the lines and overnight camp out. It'll be impossible to show up anytime Sunday morning and still expect to be part of the first 200 that will be meeting Miyamoto (let alone the first 10 that'll swap Nintendogs data with him.)
I have a bachelor party (my brother's) to attend Saturday night, so there's no hope for me.
Nintendo will be purchasing 200 pizzas to distribute to those lined up. 75 will be handed out Saturday night, and the remaining 125 throughout the day Sunday. According to the employee I spoke with, this will be free of charge.
Also, Nintendo will try to arrange pre-signed (by Miyamoto) swag to purchase, for those that won't be able to secure autographs of their own. The loot will likely not be very cheap.
Feck. I'm really disappointed.
Edit - Some people will be hovering at the store as early as TODAY, even though officially, Nintendo won't be allowing lines to start forming until around closing of the store tomorrow, Saturday evening.
