Shougun Warrior DS

Namco reveals the first images of a new play entitled Shogun Warrior on Nintendo DS which is planned for next October in the United States. It will act of a play of strategy in real time in which the player will have to conquer new grounds on the Japanese territory by employing various military and diplomatic strategies to face the close armies, it will be even possible to recruit Ninjas to assassinate his political enemies. Shogun Warrior will have graphics in 3d which miss much with the new portable console of Nintendo. The touch screen will make it possible to move its troops on the battle fields and to give orders for the combat, certain particular situations such as the engagements between two Ninjas, the combat at sea or the siege of a strong castle will be lived by the player through mini plays always on the touch screen. It should be noted that Shogun Warrior will also propose a multijoueurs mode up to 16.

Not bad but the figures look like unanimted toys though I may be wrong since its in realtime. The DW2 like draw distance tells me that this is legit but I would like to see a movie. And how many DS games support 16 player multi?

You're kidding me, that's fucking awesome!

I will ignore that this game, in concept, is similar to Shogun: Total Warrior. That's not the important part.

THE IMPORTANT PART IS WE GET A PORTABLE SHOGUN: TOTAL WARRIOR!

EDIT: Well hopefully anyways, it looks similar to the franchise but seems to incorperate the turn-based and RTS modes into a single cohesive mode unlike the split method of Shogun. I don't know what RTS games Namco has made in the past but if this turns out 1/5th as great as Creative Assembly's games I'll be amazingly happy.

The large picture on the right, with all the troops seems waaaay too high res/poly to me. Might be a concept or a really cleaned in-game shot?

Looks cool.

I'm excited about many of the tiles coming up for the DS...........I just wish they'd hurry up and bloody well release some of them.....only 4 titles out over here (Australia) and i'm getting mighty sick of Mario 64 and the Hunters demo......at least i can play my gb adv. games...

Looks good but traversing those pathways looks very bad. I wonder if you have to drag or if you just touch your destination.

If by four you mean like, ten or so. Then yeah. =p
Anyway, what's up with the screens on the right? Why is a tree raping the guys?

I'm definitely going to have to get my hands on a DS this year. The system is absolute heaven for stregedy and RPG fans.

Well, it is a RTS game so that could just be fog of war. This is pretty hawt news.

The picture on the right is definitely not realtime DS graphics. The resolution is way too high, it looks filtered and most objects have self-shadowing. It looks amazingly poor for CGI though.

Missed my post. The scan is from Nintendo Power. A US based magazine.

RTS games do have the "potential" to kick some ass on the DS. Of course, none of us have played any yet, so we can't say how they will actually turn out..

But f' yeah! RTS games rock and the DS rocks + has a touchscreen.. it should be portable RTS heaven. I hope.. :) Blizzard should just port StarCraft over now and be done with it.. :D
