Should I finish Digital Devil Saga 2?

I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff
Ive stopped playing this game for a while because I lost interest. I just got upto
The sun
and Ive just lost all interest for this game. The story seems to have taken some ridiculous plot twists and the game seems to have become a bit of a joke.
the whole idea of Serph and sera merging into one body and turning into a person who looks like a right twat just made me lose interest
DDS1 had one hell of a story, infact it was one of the best ive played through in an RPG. DDS2 started off really well and continued to tell a fascinating story, but its turned a bit cruddy at the moment. My backlog of games has also made finishing DDS2 less of a priority.

I am willing to finish the game if I know that there is an incredible plot twist or something really dramatic. can anyone confirm if there is something really good that is about to happen that should make me want to get to the end of the game?

Not sure about DDS2, but for dinner tonight you should have a chicken sandwich, waffle fries and a diet coke.

Welcome to my world! I pretty much stopped near that point as well. Enjoyed the mystique behind "gangland warfare for a chance at reaching nirvana" thing that DDS1 pushed, but man DDS2 ruinated all of that fun. I alos thought the dungeons had a bit more interesting layouts in the prequel as well.

The first one had an amazing story. The whole concept was really clever and there were some really emtional moments. I thought that DDS2 did start of really well it was shocking when
party members actually died[/spoilers] and when you find out about
the asura project and how sera, god and the cuvier syndrome were all related
. After all that I began to lose interest. nothing makes me want to continue the game.

Do you like level grinding? Look forward to several hours' worth of it to get past the next-to-last boss. The "good" news is that the final boss is inexplicably much easier than the next-to-last boss.

This is the point at which I gave up. Dragon Quest VIII was sitting on my shelf calling out to me, and I wasn't looking forward to level grinding in that stupid maze.

Well I'm pretty tired of having to go through all the dungeons, its become rweally tedious. im not going to bother going through the longest one if the ending isnt worth it.

not every game is going to have a great story. Finish the game if you enjoy the gameplay. :/

It does have an entertaining, unpredictable story, up until when you hit the sun. At that point it just loses momemntum. And in the end, yes, it does fail to wrap things up in a satisfying manner.

I still think the game was worth the price of admission. It's a rarity -- an RPG without a clichèd plot.

Both games were definately worth the $100 I spent on them, and maybe someday I'll go back and finish the last half of the final dungeon (the Sun).

I haven't played any of the SMT games yet. I own all 3 (Nocture, DDS1 and 2) and they are still sitting on my shelf wrapped. I'll get around to them this summer. :D

I usually play RPG's for their stories. If the plot becomes no good I cant play the RPG anymore. An RPGs gameplay alone is usually not good enough to keep me playing the game.

That is exactly how I feel. The story is fantastic, but as soon as you get to the sun the story is not as entertaining.

Absolutely
