Should Independence Day get a new Blu-Ray release?

Independence Day got a Blu-Ray release from Fox back in 2008, still the early days of Blu-Ray (the format wars had just more or less ended). On the disc, it was just the theatrical release of the movie and nothing else (I remember new dynamic menus being a "selling point"). Like many Fox Blu-Ray releases of this era, bonus features (or extended cuts) were few and far between. I remember new releases of theirs (as in, just out of theaters) such as Live Free or Die Hard having no bonus features, where the DVD's had everything (If you wanted the Unrated Cut of Live Free or Die Hard in HD, too bad!). This was not just the case for new movies, but older catalog ones as well. I have a repackaged version of the 2-Disc 5-Star Collection edition of Independence Day on DVD that has hours of features, as well as both the theatrical and extended versions of the movie. I was excited when the Blu-Ray was released, but balked when I saw how bare bones it was. But there is hope! Fox has gotten much better at supporting the format and next year happens to be the Twentieth Anniversary of Independence Day as well as the release year of Independence Day: Resurgence. Surely that would be the time to bring a new release of the movie to Blu-Ray with all the legacy special features, maybe some all new ones like a retrospective and some that hype up the sequel. A new transfer of the movie would be nice. I mean this has to happen, right? If they don't do it before Resurgence hits theaters, maybe they could do it when it releases on Blu-Ray and have a dual-pack available. Would you be excited for a proper Blu-Ray release of the original movie?
