(Rough Translation)

Today Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and Nintendo announced that Silent Hill 5 is in development and has been confirmed for the Nintendo "Revolution" Allthough all previous signs pointed in the direction of the Playstation 3 the SH team were finally swayed by the new nintendos innovative controller According to Yamaoka, producer of the series "We are excited about the enw possibilities the controller brings, we feel that the Silent Hill series can take begin a new path with this controller and feel it will help us to implement out innovative plans.'

Silent Hill 5 will be a Nintendo Revolution exclusive, the first images of the game will be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in May 2006.

Lol. Yeah, whatever.

I would love to play a SH title built around a Rev type controller but I need it in HD res and awe inspiring graphics.

using the rev controller as a torch, going through a blacked out disused mental hospital for the win

never heard of the website, buttt i dont belive it because the bigger fanbase for sh is on ps2 first then xbox and then... nintendo never had a silent hill title

wow, surprising if true, if only for the fact i would have thought nintendo would be itching to do the whole luigi's mansion flashlight thing instead..

but big props to them if true!

this should get the same types of responses that the rumors of RE going GameCube exclusive got.

whatever though, i don't really care for the series aside from eye candy.

But would that mean they'd continue with the FPS style of SH4?

I dunno.

Could be neat, but I'm an elitest whore so none of this crap can compare to the original game. :D

hahahahahahahahahahahahaharoflmfaopmsl

HAHAHAHA honestly i LOL'd

*throws his gaf account on the table*

I CALL BS :lol :lol :lol :lol

It is quite possible. Silent Hill 4 was announced by the team to be the last of the traditional style games. SH5 was said to be for the next generation and in "first person"! No one wanted to play a full game like SH4's apartment scenes, but if this Revolution rumor is true then everything makes sense.

If true it's kind of funny, considering that Silent Hill has always relied on great graphics to convey the horror, and now it would be running on underpowered hardware. Oh well, we all saw how "exclusive" the RE games were. :lol

See? YOU SEE?

Nintendo is MATURE NOW!!!!

WOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW lol see i said wow

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

well, if any series is suited for the Rev, SH is it. It really relies on atmosphere moreso than graphics gee-whiz, and plus: the Rev kids are GONNA need an "old man" screenshot in the forthcoming pic wars with the 360/PS3 set!

I can see this happening simply due to how small the Silent Hill development team is. And if they're serious about adding more first person elements, the remote would be good for melee attacks.

In Spain and Mexico, similar celebrations take place on December 28th. The day is the Feast of the Holy Innocents. Originally, the day was a sad remembrance of the slaughter of the innocent children by Herod in his search for the baby Jesus. It eventually changed to a lighter commemoration of innocence involving pranks and trickery.

The 'news' on the site linked to in the original post was put up on the 28th of December...

:lol :lol one of your better ones

Also, RE: Revolution's graphical capability for Silent Hill....... this is a series that has tried to appear like a grainy 16MM horror film. Glossy high resolution is not needed for the SH look..... Rev would be good enough.

I would. My first gaming scare in which I actually yeled was in "The Room" when I saw the kid's shadow in the closet...

It's not like they can use the grain filter on the PS3 and 360.

It's completely fake.

Dec. 28th is the equivalent of April Fool's Day in most spanish speaking countries(if not all). Even the news title says "inocente", referring to the Dia de los Inocentes, which means Day of the Innocents.

It is probably fake though. Only in a perfect world would Silent Hill appear on Revolution...... *sigh*

Uh, just because it has a grain filter doesn't mean graphics and resolution aren't important to SH. SH is all about gritty hyper-realistic details. Cue <img-oldman>.

we still get SH3 dood shots to this day, the Rev specs will put it above that ability and this time you'll be able to put a torch in his face, wave a sword at him, skip, use a lightsabre , do his teeth, tap his ass and chop his onions.

What's not to like?

(multiplatform for the win - PS3 and X360 get "Silent Hill 5" , Rev gets "Silent Hill R")

Now IF this is true:

FUCK. YES.
Why? Have you even played a Silent Hill title before? Silent Hill is built entirely around atmosphere, and not having this in HD with next gen visuals would be such a disappointment. What could the revolution offer the game that would enhance the experience? Being able to use the thing for a flashlight? Ugh. This better not be true. :/

It will be fun to see Nintendo fans, who've proclaimed Resident Evil to befar superior to Silent Hill the sudden flip-op that they are famous for.
