Silicon Knights update still coming says Matt C.

Noooo, don't say that! Factor 5 games are average gameplay and great graphics...so basically they're all about graphics. Along with teams like Temco and Rare, I was really looking forward to Factor 5's first next-gen game, as it would have been one of those to show what we could really expect from the consoles.

Nah I dunno. They must still have something Nintendo related in the works, or some meaty news IMO... even if it's their last.

they're going for a few days, and there will be many stories based on the visit, not just one.

Well it'd be nice, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I don't think it has been confirmed that Factor 5 is working on PSP games, so I wouldn't fret yet Mama Smurf. Although, there have been signs that suggested there were heading in this direction. Julian made a few peeps about future portable hardware and there was that comment a couple of months ago from Matt about an unnamed developer who had a clear grasp of GC technology saying that they could make a better looking game on the PSP. I can't think of any other developer except F5 that could fit the bill.

Hmm, weren't they supposed to be working on Pilotwings as well? Revolution bound?

They were, but they're not anymore (and yes it's probably been moved to Revolution).

As far as Rebel X stuff, I think IGNXbox made it up. The story's just changed too many times.

Agreed. Although I wouldn't mind a new Rogue Squadron title on a next-gen console. (Probably won't be Revolution because of LucasArts ditching Nintendo) No on-foot missions hopefully.

Wasn't that a faked quote used to start a mess of a thread here a few weeks back?

So, why will Matt and Fran go to SK? They are writing for Cube.IGN. There are more simple signs. Simple, I said simple.

Couldn't it be because of their previous relationship? Remember that Matt interviewed Ken Lobb (in the one we learned that Conker was the best looking Xbox game) long after he had moved to MS.

I dont really see Matt making the very long trip up to SK for a few days if all he's going to do is chat with Denis (which he could probably do anytime with a simple phone call).

He's just going for the sex. The interview will consist of pillow talk.

I don't see a problem with these Matt threads when there's actual information or hints in them.

But when it's things like that Zoonami thread, that's a little bit too much.

Interesting.

My bet is that SK is working on a title for either Xenon and Revolution, or maybe even both.

I dont see why SK wouldn't make their games multiplatform now, especially since its probably their best chance at maximizing sales.

More from the horse's mouth...

Buh?

Hey. Quick question. I read over on your sister site, the Xbox one, that Silicon Knights is developing games for the Xbox. Tell me it isn't true!! I don't believe it. I mean I just went to their website, and there is still a huge Nintendo logo on the entrance page. There is no way that Nintendo would allow that, and I know I read something about Nintendo and Siilicon Knights parting ways, but I read that almost a year ago. It doesn't take almost a year to edit a website. So, back to my question. Is silicon knights working on Xbox?

Matt responds: Yeah, I saw that yesterday. To my knowledge, neither Factor 5 nor Silicon Knights are developing games for Microsoft's Xbox. That said, I expect they are both creating software for the successor to Microsoft's console, codenamed Xenon.

They are definitely one of the best Canadian game developers, and have served up some great entertainment.

They make one good game (which FYI, was Legacy of Kain) and suddenly they're one of the best Canadian game developers? Or do Canadian devs suck that much?

I'd be so happy if SK released a title for the Xenon within it's first year. I'd buy one right away! Oh well, I will do so anyway, but that would justify the purchase even more! :)

Naw, SK doesnt even compare to Ubisoft montreal and Bioware. Nor Strategy first for that matter although thats a lesser known company for console gamers.

I played a few hours of legacy of kain back then, played and enjoyed eternal darkness the 3 or 4 times i've played throught it and thought MGS was pretty good. They're no AAA developer yet but the improvements they make is something im really looking forward in their next title, just look at the polish of MGS compared to ED, its not even comparable. I also like their story quite a bit, the way they're told, the voice acting, etc, and they're making one of the few cyberpunk game out there with Too human, and since im a cyberpunk junky and that i was drooling over the interviews @ the gia about the game, sounded like MGS + Deus ex, ign playstation were really really hyped about it after playing it at E3 99 (or 98?).

Of course, bioware is king imo as far as canadian devs are concerned :D
